Whats the dumbest thing you were counselled for?
by Beck_Melbourne ini was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.
if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.
one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

why do the jw ?
by heathen inwhy do the jw lock their publications in cabinets ?i noticed on my visits to the local cong.
that they are so anal about their publications in the congregations that they have locks on their cabinets where they keep the magazines and bibles .
i can't help but wonder if they are worried about the publishers helping themselves .well ,i'm open to any explainations.

Why would info from 30 years be relivent. The light has become brighter and now we see that it is ok if SOME people go to school, the WT needs lawyers too. Oh, btw we won't apologize for discouraging all those people who followed our advice, even though we were mistaken. We are imperfect humans, don't you know. It was their mistake that they followed the wrong advice. But do not worry. Even though you wasted this life away, it was for serving Jehoober and whatever you give up for him, he will pay back 1000 fold. Isn't that great?!? You give up your education and you will get 1000 educations. You give up you family and you get 1000 other familys who will love you WAY more than your real one does because they are your "Spiritual Family" (tm) They love you for what you believe, not for who you are, which is a greater love that Jehoober teaches.

regarding the and in 144k, I was taught that putting the and there was wrong. It was ok in money do deliminate between dollars and cents. Had a math teacher make a big stink about it. He always said there is no AND in numbers. two hundred fifty two, not two hundred and fifty two. Was this guy a math teacher or just a dub who thinks his way is right?
Oh, I remember getting counselled after a book study because I corrected the BS conductor. It was in the greatest man book discussing eclipse. He was asking what the difference between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse. I answered because nobody else knew. He said I was wrong and said his answer, but after that I raised my hand and said we just studied that in astronomy and I was pretty confident I was right. I explained it a little further and he thanked me. After meeting, he asked me not to do that anymore....LOL
I guess its about image, not giving out correct information.

sorry if this has been done to death, i only did a quick scan and didn't see a topic like this, so i appologize in advance if this was started someplace else.. this morning i woke up and thought about where i was last year, and the complete shock i felt at this same time last year...and i was just wondering if any of you had those same feelings this morning.. so where were you?
i always find stories of what people were doing at the time they heard to be really interesting-please share if you'd like.
