Nobody is refuting the fact that Canada is America. They are Americans. US Citizens are Americans also. We can call ourselves Americans if we damn well want to. French can call themselve European if they want to also. Chinese can call themselve Asian. I don't throw a hissy fit when they do. If thats what they are, let them call themselves that. I can Call my self an American, A Californian, North American, or even an earthling. Whoopdi Freaking do. Canadians can call themselves American if they want to!

So, The United States is ONE OF THE definitions of the word America. Another is the landmasses of North, South and Central America are a sub-set of America. We are just trying to use words that the world understands in describing ourselves. If I was in some remote parts of Africa and I said I was a Floridian or a Oaklahomian (or is it Oaklahomo) I would venture I would get a puzzled look. If I said I was an American, they would know I hail from the Americas. Hope this helps your confusion.

If you are to print out anything, just print out a little bit of Info about how they misquote historians to make them say what they want to say. Do some research on the Cross/torture stake. It might be just one quote, but it is representative of how their research is structured. There are pleanty more quotes like that to find, especially regarding 607 BC if they need more examples. If you show it to them, do it not to change how they think, but to explain why you feel the way you do. It will plant a seed and won't make you look like you are attacking them, just defending yourself.

I never really had a chance to shun people because of them being DF'd. Once they were, they disappeared from the halls I went to. I "shunned" or didn't talk to people I didn't like, but thats just because I didn't like them, not because I was told to shun them.
I do remember a couple of times at memorial where my ex would point out people who were DF'd. They sat there in tears. I wanted to go up to them and talk to them so bad so they didn't feel like a worthless pile of crap. But I guess thats what the borg wants them to feel like.
