Well, seeing all the extra cash the state of CA has laying around, All the teachers getting laid off and all the public assistance programs getting cut I can see why we are cutting the funds.

There are many types of pentacostals at different levels. Some are your average "joe shmoe" christian going to church on sunday, or not even going at all. Then there are the apostalic pentacostals. I had a friend who was one (sorta). Their rules make the dubs rules look normal. Nobody can show their elbows so they all have to wear long sleaves (which can be quite a bugger in 110 deg. F weather. Woman must wear long dresses, never cut their hair, no make-up and no jewlrey, not even a wedding band. Men must shave their face clean, only wear pants. These churches aren't as centralized as the Dubs are, their own pastor has the final say on what can/cant be done. They usually tithe (to support the pastor) and most can't watch TV. I went to a restaurant with my friend and he had to turn so his back faced the TV in the restaurant. That was a cult religion. So just cuz they are pentacostal (any church that believes that people still speak in tongues) doesn't mean they are a cult. (not that I believe they are right, LOL)

WT's Billions $$$$$$$ & and NOT one Nursing Home for the Old
by JT inas i looked at these photos i could not help but to think of the $$$$$$ billions that they own around the world and they have not setup one retirement home for it's members.
outside of any members who are bethelites such as co, do, missionaries who have spent 40-60yr of service to the corp they have no where to go.
how sad.

And when you think about it, why are they investing so much energy and resources into property, which will probably get destroyed in Armageddon. It just shows how little faith they have by storing up their treasures here on earth. If I were half as rightous as they think they are and I had their types of funds, I'd be helping out my fellow believers with shelters, food, clothing. And If I believed in the end of the world any day now, some training on how to survive in a post-armageddon world. I'd do research by watching Mad Max movies. I'd study hard on what Noah did after the flood to survive. But then I wouldn't want to sleep with my daughters so I'd probably just die off.

Please lets not confuse "Well Dressed" to dressing formally. Just because someone wears some polyester pants, short-sleaved button up shirt (summer time in CA) and a tie, doesn't mean they are well dressed. Half the old ladies in the Cong I went to wore plaid skirts that ended halfway down their calves with a striped shirt. And they were praised on how they were dressed! Well dressed my A$$. Remember the warning not to follow fashion trends. Wear what the brothers & Sisters wore in the 50's. Thats always in style! WAIT, wasn't that a fashion trend of the 50's??? Oh crap, I guess the GB will come up with their own fashion and sell their clothes to the dubs.

I just read the entire thread and I believe that Ed's uninformed opinion was in the area of what Science is. He compared it to religion. He is uninformed on how science is practiced and how theories are developed. He formed the opinion that science and religion are similar in how their tenants are guarded and protected by their believers. Some people more informed in the realm of science informed him that he was wrong about the facts that made him decide on his opinion. Now if Ed, or anyone, wants to hold the same opinion based on facts that are not true, its up to them.

No I'm not missing the point. There are 2 different defintions of the word America. One is just the US, the other is any land mass from North, South or Central America. So if I answer around 260 million for the population of America, I would be giving a correct answer. If a Canadian answered the population of Canada for the answer he would be correct, because one of the Defintions of America is not Canada exclusive. This is one of the problems with the English language, A word can have 2 differend definitions. Sorry.
