Off to the Doctor.
by LouBelle inin a couple of hours i'm going to the doctor - an intervention.
i don't want to be a burdon to my mother, she has her own life to lead with her own responsibilities.
i've always been able to take care of everything for myself.

My grandfather died in 1947 thinking the end was near, Grandma died in 1964 thinking we are in the last days, Mom died in 2006 thinking the end was near. My grandparents died in their70s and mom was 89. At 65 years of age I no longer believe.

Mouthy Grace is not well. Please send love.
by return of parakeet inin another thread, mouthy said she was "not well" and mentioned "kicking the bucket.
i believe she needs some encouragement and well wishes.. mouthy, you don't need to respond to this thread if you don't feel up to it.
just consider it an exceptionally long get-well card..

Crisis of Conscience republished and on Kindle
by losthobbit inhi guys.
sorry if this has been mentioned before... i haven't visited this forum in a while.. i've noticed that crisis of conscience is no longer ridiculously expensive on amazon.co.uk (now 9.38), and they have a kindle version which is even cheaper (6.84 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/b00bqou5rc).
unfortunately the publisher did an absolutely useless job of formatting the kindle version.

I was a Jehovah's Witness in a different religion
by free2beme ini recently had a very long conversation with my mother, about what jehovah's witnesses teach and believe now.
while i could gleam ideas and thoughts, that kind of worked with the religion i once called home.
more often then not, i had to come to a extreme conclusion.

That is what I was thinking I saw more love and kindness in the religion before 1980's. Not as restictive as it has become now. I was just mentioning to my husband a talk or WT study in the 80's about the diferrence of' laws, rules, regulations and suggestions. It ended by saying we had to follow even suggestions because they were for our own good and plus we were responsible for hurting others around us consciences. I decided then if I had to be responsible for my brothers and sisters consciiences I was done with this nonsence.

Free2beme this JW religion is nothing like the JWs my husband and I grew up with in the 50's and 60's. I hardly recoqnize it as the same at all. I see a group of repressed hardnosed members compared to any loving members. Of course I remember many being hardcore in the 50 and 60's but remember having some fun times in between, we had cong. picnics, parties with dancing, skating parties even hayrides and you didnt have to be in good standing we believed in encouraging those who were weak "IN the Truth"

My husband asked me to print the Wt 7/13 WT for him. His mom usually calls him during month of May, he wants to be prepared. His response,(can only read small amount at one time). His response they now changing things tryiing to make things fit their new lites. He is so done with this relgions hipocracy. He doesnt understand how active JWs cant see thru these new teachings, but knows they just close their eyes. My sister asked how I got a copy of this WT, duh I went to JW.org.

Day One After Armgeddon written by a JW awaiting the Big A w/eager expectation - Warning: LOOOONG!!!

As I read I felt a overwheming sadness. Gunshots? I thought Jehovah was going to use the natural elements, earthquakes, bad storms etc. Looting? I would think this would be the last thing on people minds, as I would have thought Jah would have let them know it was Jahs War. The 65 year old brother being reunited with his wife and having a child together, not what I was taught. Oh well they all have their fantasies.
