First post
by EastCoastMindFree ini have been on this site lurking for over 2 years and this is my first post, i feel so bottled with emotion that i have to let it out somehow so i do not have an emotional breakdown!
i was raised in the organization and am married with 2 children ages 4 and 2. my wife and i have been inactive for about 2 years and i have always had hard questions that were never answered growing up, such as blood policy and how david and his men were allowed to eat from the bread reserved for the high priests without death penalty since it was life or death.
carbon dating on human remains/tools that date back 30-40k years, far surpassing the 6k year man creation date, the double standards and very real "human" aspect on the organization and its decisions and history.

The longer you stay in the longer it takes to break away from cult thinking and the more likely your children will imitate your cult thinking. I faded when my children were young but didn't fade enough and both of my children stayed long enough to be baptised. My grandchildren have not been raised around JW thinking and they are more comfortable living their FREE lives. Welcome to JWN.

Many of us women "don't know our place" and proud of it. Keep up the great work you are doing. I am disgusted by pedophiles and those that protect them.

Stuff You Would Lose If You Went Back
by Nosferatu inso we know all the things the wts prevents us from doing, but that's much, much different than the stuff we've grown accustomed to.. for those who have been out for a number of years, what kind of things would end up being abandoned if you suddenly started going back to the kingdom hall?
you know, stuff that you now do on the nights you used to attend meetings, the things you own, the things you wear, etc..

The experience that changed my life
by hijosdelawatch ini have been lurking for a long time here and i think i'm prepared to speak about this experience openly.. .
i was born in a jw family and i grew up as the average jehovah's witness does.
even being very young, i helped with the territories and other work in the congregation.

Sticky situations
by Sammy Jenkis ini was remembering today this situation that i let get out of hand because i was too damaged to let my co-workers and my boss know i was a jw when i was still inside.
it was hard to explain to people something so foreign and out of this world as being a witness and never before had the difficulty been as hard as when one of our co-workers birthdays came around.. i dreaded the moment because i'd played pretty cool and dodged any questions that might reveal my religious inclinations.. but:.
my boss came over to my desk and gave me this card to sign, she asked if i'd like to sign it.

MissFit great experience. They wonder why JW kids are leaving. Its because they cant be normal teenagers.
I got caught kissing a non JW boy at the age of 14 by my moms busybody friend. LOoking back my mom was cool.

Did anyone ever notice just how many 30-40 year escapees there are?
by AK - Jeff ini know a lot of young people leave the 'truth'.
but i would never have thought that so many of us with 20, 30, 40 years in would be leaving.
what do you think accounts for that?

I am bumping this topic only because I found it interesting and I actually met the couple Randy posted about. Very nice couple. I directed Lois to this topic and thought others might enjoy reading.

Prime, why do I suspect you may be a lawyer for the WTBTS. The more you defend the WTBTS the more as its sounding if you want to throw blame on Elders an R & F to deflect from higher ups. My thoughts about you.
