My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

My Partner and I have been together for 10 years today!

being raised a jw, it was always hard for me to find a long term relationship.
most people that i met weren't interested in anything long term, and each time one ended, it left me feeling like i would never find someone who shared the same feelings.

This explanation really helped me come to terms with these huge numbers, in a format I could understand. It says:
- 1 million seconds is equal to 11 ½ days
- 1 billion seconds is equal to 31 ¾ years
- 1 trillion seconds is equal to 31,710 years
So the difference between a million and a billion is the difference between 11 ½ days and 31 ¾ years (11.5 days vs. 11,315 days)!

Going out with a bang
by LittleToe inafter much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

I'm in a pretty dark place...
by OneDayillBeFree ini know many of you have felt this way but it still hurts.. i was doing fine, great actually but then all of the sudden a huge wave of pain hit my body out of the blue.
man its so hard living this life, always pretending, except when you're alone.
i feel like its eating me from the inside.. so many times i want to just give up, on both sides.

OneDayIllBeFree - please don't give up. Most of here have been where you are now but it does get easier. It's hard coming out of the matrix, but you need to focus on making more friends on the outside and pursuing things that you love or have always wanted to try. Even 10+ years later, I lie to my family members. They know I don't go to meetings anymore but it doesn't stop them from trying to save me. Sometimes I just want to totally let them know that I am "apostate" so that they will forever leave me alone.

OMG, ohiocowboy...I had no idea you went through that back then. I wish we both knew then what we know now, I would have totally taken you in. It makes me so sad that you went through so much sadness at such a young age. I use to have so much respect for your parents, I loved them like family but after I heard about the way they treated you, I lost all of that. I blame it on the cult. If they had not been in it, maybe your life would have turned out differently. But hopefully, you are happy now. We need to catch up. Are you still in Dallas? Going to be there in February. I'll email you.
