"I think you should start a thread entitled:
"What the Fark?" for these types of observations!!!!!!!"
I agree!!!! Would be awesome.
i grew up in the mormon state, so i can attest this as true.
the state bird is the seagull, a disgusting, bullying, messy and annoying scavenger.
there are zillions of seagulls around the great salt lake, just a few miles north of salt lake city.. why is it the state bird and why does killing one of those flying rodents bring on a fine of $100?

give it women... .
today i added a new article to my blog addressing the watchtower mindset regarding woman, and particularly of married women.
pictures are telling!!!.
"But if you want to know something that actually blew my mind about the Watchtower teaching regarding the status of women, it was in the 1966 book "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" (the book that started the 1975 furvor), on pages 45-48, pp 22-25."
Please elaborate, got rid of all literature years ago.
i'm really pissed.
i havent attended the kingdom hall in several months.
my dad says hes going to stop talking to me.
I feel bad that you are going through this. It's so sick that an organization can have such control over people's lives.
Try to remember that it's not personal, it's probably killing him/them to take this stand but they feel like it's a test of their faith.
I once shunned my dad (for a while) because I thought it was pleasing to Jehovah to do so. Then he almost died and I started questioning things so try to keep a positive attitude. Pray for your family to open their eyes to see how really messed up this organization is.
Almost all of my living family are still witnesses so I don't have much association with them. It doesn't really bother me anymore because I have great friends that love me no matter what. Surround yourself with people that can show unconditional love and friendship.

Did Scientologists Destroy Nicole Kidman's Relationship With Kids Bella, Connor Cruise?
It's been more than a decade since Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman finalized their divorce -- but even as Cruise's split withKatie Holmes dominates headlines, Kidman's estrangement from Bella and Connor, her kids with Cruise, remains a source of curiosity for many.
And while geographical distance (Kidman lives in Australia and Nashville, Tenn., while Bella, 19, and Connor, 17, are in Los Angeles) and Kidman's own growing family with second husband Keith Urban have been the unofficial explanations for the sad rift, several former members of the Church of Scientology claim something more sinister is at work.

Karen De La Carriere, ex-wife of former Scientology president Heber Jentzsch, tells the Hollywood Reporter: "By filing for sole custody of Suri, [Holmes is] making it very clear she's not going to let what happened with Nicole Kidman happen to her." De La Carriere goes on to claim that members of the church deliberately turned Bella and Connor against their mom during and after the 45-year-old actress' 2001 split from Cruise, 50.

Former Scientologist leader Marty Rathbun adds to THR that members of the organization, including staffers who worked in the family's L.A. home, campaigned against Kidman in front of the kids. In fact, Rathbun claims he observed Tommy Davis, who heads the church's Celebrity Centre, feeding "false information" to young Bella and Connor. "Tommy told them over and over again their mother was a sociopath, and after a while they believed him," Rathbun claims. "They had daily sessions with Tommy. I was there. I saw it."
An anti-Scientology activist adds to the site that a helpless Kidman called him during the divorce for advice. "Nicole reached out to us because there was really no one else to go to," the source says. "It was very different back then, and she didn't have anyone to go to for help and answers."

"You're either in or out when it comes to Scientology," another expert tells THR. "That's why Katie is making custody such an issue in the divorce petition. If you're out, the way she seems to be, they want to cut you off from everyone, including your kids."
An attorney for the Church of Scientology told THR of the various detractors: "All of these people are excommunicated self-promoters who are sadly exploiting a private family matter for their own personal financial gain. . . . They cannot be believed given they have acquired no firsthand knowledge of the church for many years and have a record of making false and/or misleading statements about the church."

Kidman has not been photographed with Bella and Connor for several years.
"They live with Tom, which was their choice," Kidman (also mom to Sunday and Faith Urban) said of her older kids in a late 2010 interview. "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?"
In May, Bella told Australia's New Idea magazine: "I love my mom. She's my mom. She's great . . . I see her sometimes and I speak to her."

Welcome, looking forward to getting to you know you.
folks here all have one thing in common: they are somehow associated with jws, either were one, are married to one, have a relative who is one, has a romantic interest in one, are are currently one.
perhaps you are not one, but something about jws bugs you enough to have found this forum, and read it and contribute to it.
what brought you here?
1) I had supressed too many things for so long because I felt like I needed to "wait on Jehovah". My dad (who taught me "the truth" disassociated himself and put those seeds of doubt in my head. He told me that the day would come when the society would have to change the 1914 generation definition and that it was a house of dominos for them. After he died, his words came true which gave me my first aha moment.
2) Jesus said you would know his people by the love, I only saw unconditional love. The elders were more like the scribes and pharisees instead of loving shepherds.
3) Got disgusted with the number of pedophile issues and the victims being threatened with disfellowshipping if they said anything.
4) The shunning of disfellowshipped ones (especially those trying to come back) seemed barbaric.
5) The nail on the coffin for me was the UN issue.
6) More and more I felt like the governing body was edging Jesus out of the picture and placing obedience to them over Jehovah and Jesus.
I, too, innocently was looking for the JW website and stumbled upon a website talking about reform for the organization. I hesitantly looked at it not knowing if it was "apostate" or not and was relieved that I wasn't the only one that felt like there was something seriously wrong in the organization. It had a chapter of Ray Franz' forbidden book linked to it and I read it. Found myself ordering the book the next day and read it along with his other book and realized that the organization isn't/wasn't what I thought it was.
There were about a hundred other little things but these were the big ones.
Stick around, you will learn a lot on this board. Most posters are great people, not the evil apostates we've been warned about.
edited to add: elderelite hit it spot on...couldn't have said it better because I think ultimately we all start listening to the little voice inside of us.
i live in an apartment community and several of us like to hang out at the pool and cook out.
this girl that i've known for a couple of months was talking with my husband and me the other day about sex and marriage.
she's going through a divorce and said that she doesn't believe in pre-marital sex.
I live in an apartment community and several of us like to hang out at the pool and cook out. This girl that I've known for a couple of months was talking with my husband and me the other day about sex and marriage. She's going through a divorce and said that she doesn't believe in pre-marital sex. My husband asked her if it was a religious thing and she said yes but didn't want to say which religion cause she didn't want to give it a bad name. She was smoking and a little wasted at the time. I said "it doesn't start with JW by chance" and her mouth dropped open and asked how we knew.
She now thinks of me as her new BFF cause I understand what she's going through. She still believes it's the truth even tho she knows it's f**ked up. She has 3 kids that are strong witnesses and 1 that's not in anymore so wants to get reinstated to maintain the relationshipwith them, plus her mom, also a JW, is going through cancer for the 3rd time. Been married twice (both to JW's), the first one was an alcoholic and the the 2nd one is gay, but hasn't admitted it to himself yet. She suffers from tremendous guilt and asked me how I got over always feeling guilty. I told her that I stopped believing it was the truth and it was easy after that.
dr just told me that i inherited this health problem.
.
has anyone had any success in winning over this desease?.
I just finished reading the book, "Wheat Belly" by a Dr. William Davis. Very enlightening. He talks about diabetes in the book.
Basically, the food industry has corrupted the wheat grains and it is actually harmful to us even though we are encouraged to eat "whole grains". Food manufacturers add wheat flour to things you would never suspect because it stimulates appetite as well as raise our insulin levels.
i've uploaded a video that discusses the dramatic jury verdict regarding the abuse suffered by candace conti, of which you are all aware.
if you're not yet familiar with the story for any reason, please check out my blog article on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/general-information/the-watchtower-punished-society-loses-legal-battle-over-child-abuse-case.
