  @Robert7: The thing about leaving is that all the evil associated with leaving comes from JWs themselves. I've been mentally out for a good while now. I'm sure many on here are, or have been in my position. Everything is peachy with my friends and family. However, if I were to make one call to one of my 'best friends', telling them that it's a cult and I've woken up to the mind control, within an hour my life would change! They would begin the gossip and smear campaign, and if one of them saw me on the street they would avoid me like a leper.

  If one wakes up and lives for the next 80 years going through all the motions it would not bar them from the love-bombing, there would be no reason to express the extremist hate that disfellowshipped persons are shown.

  Wasn't there a drama like that about 3 or 4 years ago? Minus the him getting action part. Brothers were in the stadium weeping like they just saw a brutal gladitorial match at a colosseum.

  i have some family and friends still in the organization.

  i don't actively seek updates - my lovely contacts provide me with them unsolicited.

  so far the updates have been reliable and confirmed sooner or later by subsequent developments.

  I don't think the Book Study arrangement was a reliable cash cow for them either. In my experience contributions were always low, and there were issues with elder's families 'borrowing' money from the box.

  i've seen a few postings of a possible "next date" for dubs of 2034. based on an article they published comparing the last days to the days of noah.

  preaching for 120 years.

  however, i noticed a little tidbit from wiki about age:.

  They used the same carrot on a stick for my great grand parents, my grand parents, my parents, it didn't work with me, but it's working on most of my friends. It's funny how easily the mind can be manipulated with tiny tweaks to the same old trick.

  with that said here are my observations, and i want to know what you have observed.. in my experience i have noticed a trend: zealous witnessestend to exhibit the worst grammar when compared to non-witnesses!.

  i want you to think back, or check it out for yourself if you haven't noticed it.. on social networks: compare comments on anything by jws (especially the uber-zealous ones) with those of your atheist or other religiously affiliated friends.

  I want you to think back, or check it out for yourself if you haven't noticed it.

  On social networks: compare comments on anything by JWs (especially the uber-zealous ones) with those of your atheist or other religiously affiliated friends. You will likely see a very stark contrast between the sentence structure, use of appropriate apostrophy, captilisation, and general logic of statements of JWs vs non-JWS.

  Listen to them speaking: in person as well and make the comparisons I listed above.

  saw this daily text posted on facebook along with a buttload of comments from jws.

  i would only recommend reading this on an empty stomach.. the one listening to counsel is wise.prov.

  they help us evaluate ourselves too, as their is a tendency to think we are okay in many aspects.. counsel is always needed because of some personality trait so to reprove and put us in the right path.when counsel is needed, it is good for the elders to provide it at the earliest opportunity and when they do,let us listen to jehovah through them so that we can be wise...remember ..listen, obey and be blessed!

  i can't get into much detail, but i might have been caught doing something natural and fun that the gb would have a fit over.

  (i'm not sure at this point if i was seen).

  the elders have called a meeting of the entire body tonight, which is strange since they usually meet on weekends.. i've been worrying and sweating like crazy since then, which i think is the programmed jw guilt switch in my mind going off like crazy.. what i want to know is:.

  @MTSman, that was weird, but FUNNY! I'm laughing myself to death.

  It's been almost a week, and nobody has approached me. Ironically I got a new 'privilege' this week as well. So it looks like I'm still in the clear.

  JW07 - Sounds like J-007: Under cover, anti Watchtower double agent On Her Majesty's Secret Service (quite nerdy, I know). Having woken up I'm now committed to waking up others and loosening the mental chains of the Watchtower from the inside...for now.
