  Reading : " The Vampire LeStat",,,,anyone eles like the Vampire Chronicles?

  i am reading the anne rice novel " the vampire lestat", and it is quiet an interesting read.

  i have always loved the old dracula movies, but being a good jw, felt such guilt if i watched "blood suckers".

  i was just wondering if anyone eles has read the books about vampires writen by anne rice.

  I thought Lestat was very seductive . I do remember hoping for some romance, but like you said the "extacy" is in the blood.

  I also had a hard time with Tom Cruis , I just dont like him at all. When Tom was cast as Lestat we were so disapointed ,so was Anne Rice. She had mentioned someone like David Bowie, more of an androgynous sensuality. Witch I think T.C. has neither. But I did enjoy the movie.

  Yes I dont remember Lestat having a choice in his making. In future books he questions everything, even having a conversation with Saten. Anne's daughter died of lukiema at a young age, then she wrote Interview. I think in this book she is questioning life and death , plus she/louis "resurrects" the little girl who was the same age as her daughter.

  AS far as the Sleeping Beauty trilogy, It's very pornagraphic with some light s and m. I thought I knew almost everything about sex,,, well I learned much more lol.

  Hi Lyin

  This is one of my most favorite works of fiction. I've read it 3 times .

  I love how Anne took a somewhat unlikable character from her first book and changed my opinion of him. It was as if what was up was down. I swear I missed him when I was finished the book. So I read it when I take long vacations.

  Oh urban legand from my area... MY friends and I believed he was based on a very real man that lived in Carmel Ca. We used to visit "His" antiquie shop ,"He" drove a metalic gold VW Bus and was to die for ;-)

  Yes , How happy we will be when the evil doers are dead...

  I remember being at a watchtower study and the conductor said this so gleefully it made me shudder. Espically since my kids were not attending meetings , doing the typical teenage thing. I thought this man just doesnt get it , he in essence is talking about my family and their distruction. How insencitive!

  I just finished Demian by Hermann Hesse.

  I took my time reading it , well it is one those books that makes you think. Underscored many things too, and it was a borrowed book. Not good book karma I think

  One sentenced I marked (notice I didnt say underlined) was "I can see your thoughts are deeper than you yourself are able to express."

  Well that's how I feel. I have been silent for to long.

  i have heard much railing from the wts about the snares of "worldly philosophies".

  according to the wts, much of what is evil in the world, including the teachings of "babylon the great" is rooted in philosophy.

  this appears to be one of their hotbutton "buzzwords" to promote irrational fear about anything related to philosophy.

  I actually had two elders counsel me for reading books on philosophy after looking at my books in the book case. I wonder what they would have thought of the books under my bed. lol

  hey guys i need som help.

  i'm writing a letter to my family about the doubts and concerns i have of the wts and how they aren't god's source for spiritual food.

  i don't feel that disfellowshiping and shunning is scriptual, however i'm having trouble find evidence.
