does anyone know of any witnesses, in good standing, brother or sisters, that used to conceal carry to meetings or field service?.

The Bible thus indicates that a person may defend himself or his family if physically assaulted. He may ward off blows, restrain the attacker, or even strike a blow to stun or incapacitate him. The intention would be to neutralize the aggression or stop the attack.This being the case, if the aggressor was seriously harmed or killed in such a situation, his death would be accidental and not deliberate.

I have CWP, and at one time in the past for well over one year I carried at all times. There had been credible threats against me made. I will NOT be a helpless victim! I carried at the meetings, at work, and even had it close at hand when showering. I don't think throwing a Bible at the threat would neutralize it very effectively. And I don't think explaining that my religion says I can't meet force with equal force would have done a helluva lot either. Just saying that by using my God given thinking abilities I knew I was responsible for my own welfare, no one else.

Despite these circumstances you must put the needs of others ahead of your own. Support the printing, translation, and distribution of publications by your monetary contributions. Then you will see the miracle of your bills being paid supernaturally. Your vehicles gas tank will never run out of fuel as it magically refills itself. Your refrigerator will never empty of food nor will your pantry be bare. Your government taxes will pay themselves.

See we don't really need to take care of ourselves, do we? I guess I'll just panhandle a few bucks from the local KH each month and quit my job.

Spending time with them; an elder used to say to me after a short greeting, “we have to have you and your husband over,” six years of that.

I had this for the last nineteen years from one of them in my town about me. I finally told him he should just quit talking about it as I was fed up with all talk and no action!

Do jws remind other jws of their past sins....months later, ten years later, 20 years later.

Just a few comments from "elders" in my town. "You are reprehensible. You married a non-jw in the past." " No matter how spiritual they are (you) some men will NEVER be used for anything other than going in FS and scrubbing the KH toilets!" Your past sin (marrying a non-jw) might stumble someone, and we don't know if you will EVER be forgiven. It might be ten, twenty, thirty or more years, if ever."

When an elder reminded her of her past faithful service, her emotions were stirred. She allowed the elders an opportunity to reassure her of Jehovah’s love. In turn, her love was rekindled.

So when "elders" instead remind you of ONE past sin over and over again instead of acknowledging the other many years of faithful serve us what would logically happen to ones love, not only of God but of others in the congregation?

Will jws today do the same?

I heard one older brother say he hoped that when it came tough times and food was scarce that he hoped he would be the one to dole it out because there were way to many others who would hog the food for themselves and their families and then all would go hungry. He said he would sparingly dole a little out to each one and all could get something. Of course he was reviled and finally forced off the body by the young bucks.

Weak, discouraged, depressed = any jw that says they have never been in one or all of these categories is lying.

My father would give some of them the benefit of the doubt and say they were either foolishly naive, or lying.

Just a few of my own observations.

My congregation has quite a few people on Gov't assistance

Mine too. However they are all the ones who have the latest gadgets for some reason. I can't seem to ever find the extra finances to buy those new shiny toys with my full-time work.

I don't own or use a tablet. I won't be using the Bible either. I just sit and gaze off into space and when they ask why I don't follow along I reply, "Because I don't own a tablet, and if the eldubs and sister eldubs don't have to use their Bibles then neither do I!"

I did the same thing years ago when PC printouts were frowned upon and some still insisted on using them instead of the Bible. I just quit carrying my Bible and said it was because I wanted to follow the "suggestions" of the slave and not use PC printouts, but I wasn't going to carry a Bible if no one else was.

I have to admit I like to tweak people a bit just to stir things up.

The GENERATION explanation is now a BOLD FACE LIE

when i first heard about the new "generation" explanation i was confused because i didn't see clearly how they were explaining it.. now it looks like they finally figured it out for themselves and it is no longer confusing.. it is now a simple, ignorant, bold face lie.. this is from the january 1st watchtower.

(and i hope to hell someone from writing gets wind of this).

paragraph 15 page 31 blue stands for the exact words in the watchtower.

An interesting (to me) side point about the term generation.

Previously a generation was a group of people of a certain age. For instance those old enough to know and understand the professed significance of 1914 A.D. So "this generation" that would not pass away as understood then is now mostly all dead and forgotten.

Then we had the "overlapping" generation. Now we have two groups of generations that are only one generation.

Which brings me to the point of this comment. The cross references in the "old light" Bible (NWT) took the reader to Exodus 20: 5 which spoke of fathers (one generation), sons (second generation), the third generation, and a fourth generation. The "new light" (NRNWT) has removed those cross references entirely. I firmly believe it won't be but two or three years and "new light" will reveal that "old light" understanding about 1914 was wrong, and some new date will be "evidently" the correct date for Christ's presence, even though he is still coming(?). At that time a completely new doctrine will be unveiled for the sheep.

Are you trying to say the Wt society has hackers who steal confidential information from this site ? Like my personal email ?

I wouldn't doubt it! I followed the link in the first posting, and my PC basically froze, became very sluggish and unresponsive. At least I know enough about PC's to retrun it to a working state. If I should become the subject of any "witch" hunt by the shearers-of-sheep I do have a good lawyer.

for the ones based in britain only the "few" were invited to attend the agm .they received their new grey bible and the rumor was that the new bible will not be available for the rest of the congragations until january .it was confirmed tonight .a letter was read as local announcement that the new bibles will not be available until the end of january for the rest of the congragation .all the in crowd were sat there with their new flashy bible looking smug.also the bible reading was read from the new bible to make it all the more obvious ..... the real aftermath of agm....

We were told that there were just enough Bibles for ONLY regular publishers who COULD READ to have a copy.

Of course the shearers of sheep and their ministerial grunts were able to obtain copies for their pre-school brats who slept through the enitire program!

The times I show up at a KH I think I will start carrying a copy of the New American Revised version in tan paperback.

So what good does the WT CD-ROM Library serve anyone when it contains so many mis-statements, errors and bloopers?

It serves a useful purpose in quoting those mistakes when asking still unthinking JW's what truth really is.
