Anybody ever encounter a younger guy named Campanga
He served Minnesota back around 2006
badwillie wrote the following experience about an ignorant comment from a do:.
case in point:.
a friend received a full scholarship from a local college to study to become a veternarian.

january 13, 213 magazine focus is avoding anything that could lessen your "christian activity".
what is christian activity used in every other paragraph?
witnesses are told in a subtle way, if their jobs are high paying they probably are not doing things jehovah's ways.
It's just a rehash of the Saturday Afternoon symposium from the 2010 DC.
what do you believe happens when one of jehovah's witnesses dies?
do they go to hell?.
if you do not respond, does it mean that you are only looking to discredit and bash the jw's?.
The title is wrong as Jesus is not coming to the earth.
And everyone goes to hell at death.
JWs do not deny Jesus and no one is burning in hell.
And why do people get stuck on this Jesus not being mediator thing?
The non-anointed don't need him as a mediator as nothing is mediated.
Adn the bread and wine were only for the 11 with him.
4 years ago the co in our congregation turned down in the most direct manner the invitation for the memorial by internet.. brothers who say "we can invite the public for the memorial by internet" are apostates, they are acting against the brothers of christ.. today the wts invites every one by using jw.org.. the next time i see this co, i will confront him with his idiot verdict.
.
.
The public shouldn't be invited because Jesus only told that to his 11 faithful disciples, not the public.
a topic on here about 1975 prompted me to write about how, for me, that is and never was or will be an issue.. also, the 144,000 and 'two classes' with memorial partaking, and child abuse are not issues with this religion.
everyone has their unique teachings and personnel problems.. the real problem with this religion was highlighted in the 2008 yearbook.
it gave a story of a young woman who was from estonia who was on the equivalent of american idol for estonia.
Billy said " JW teachings have poisoned her to accepting the idea that Jesus is the only mediator between God and humans, thinking that she must obey this corporation because they claim to be channelling god. She feels that it's important to blindly accept whatever is in the lastest WT ragazine because it's coming from god... but there is a crack in that dam."
My wife is like that but I don't think it has to do with mediatorship or 144,000. Many like her are like the Nazi's; obedient by just following orders, without thinking or questiong. The obedience is what is valued.
And Juan said;"The Watchtower's prejudice against education, self-expression, and personal growth may be a major contributor to the organization's own lack of growth and internal problems. Imagine if the Watchtower could point to the thousands of members who became engineers, educators, journalists, scientists, and sports stars who are/were Jehovah's Witnesses. They could show the world how truly blessed Witnesses have been by Jehovah. "
Bingo. Couldn't have said it better myself. I just don't see how I can sell or advocate this religion that has nothing to offer but stunted growth.
While watching the Oscars I thought of how people can be that some day, but not us. Prince was a presenter for the Grammys, but that is an oddity. He was famous before he became a Witness.
Things are even so bad that I know of a brother that played piano at the assembly hall, but then the DO wanted all music to be recorded from the Society.
"But no, the leaders want the R&F to basically live meaningless and non-expansive live"
In the slave days, the owners denied the slaves an education because if they had no other options in life, they had to stay where they were as slaves and be happy with that. If they had aspirations and ambition to escape they would do so, hurting the owners. So the owners keep the slaves dumb to keep them slaves. Tobacco pickers, invitation distributors. Neither takes skills. Those with skills would would choose to do neither.
Who is our modern day Lincoln?

Data dog said "Adressing all those other issues are necessary IMO". True.
I was highlighting what Nice dreams said in how people are so proud of what they gave up as that is taught. There is nothing taught about prophesies or abuse and no one is proud of that.
Mormons and many in other denominations encourage and talk about what people are accomplishing. What do JWs talk about? How's the congregation. Who is pioneering, how is the pioneering, the studies, what's new from the FDS? Nothing about the person. Nothing said about one's golf game or batting average, etc, or GPA.
i know of two couples who left the congregation i faded from, they two have never received a shepherding call, i was usually the one who came by with food or offered to help clean their homes.
most of you are beyond this like i am, this goes to the new members arriving here who might think the "friends" are coming to check up on them.
the elders in my former hall were too much into drinking and eating, average body weight was 265lbs with pumpkin shaped bodies.
I get visits when the elders get letters about me from the Society.
there is rumors that in this years dc nwt will be released and also new tracts.
any other rumors about new releases?.
Since there is nothing wrong with the NWT, and contrary to what some wrote above, that is not what is wrong with the religion as the doctrines based on the NWT are sound.
An updated Reasoning book would be reasonable.
.
me - me - me!!!.
just lois.
The main reason that I had for field service was to argue the trinity and other doctrines. At least that was fun. Now, I just don't care. Not my job to deal with a Bible that is unclear on these issues that people back then should have asked Jesus or others about to get clarity. I mean, why didn't someone directly as Jesus 'what happens when we die?' If someone did, why isn't that in the Bible?
A few months ago an elder called and asked if I would go in the ministry with him. I did and the first hour was the regular waste of time and gas at not at homes. Then I got internally mad at how they do break at 11am, then RVs. Drive around just to fill time, like punching a clock.
last thursday i was propmpted by a recent thread to read the daily text (feb 28, 2013).
i then had the audacity to send a text message to all four jw's nephews/nieces (in their mid 20's).
i offered my opinion by summarizing it "put and shut up".
Wouldn't it be like taking a drug addict to rehab and bringing them into withdrawal for a while.
They feel bad for a while then get over it.
Better in the long run.
