I hate the trinity and always will hate it. The problem is that people take quotes from the Bible and use those to form or support the trinity. The quotes can not be trusted. I don't believe that Jesus said Father, son and holy spirit as there was no contextual reason for him to say it. If it does not make sense, it is not.

I hate the Watchtower but I really still hate the Trinity Jesus is NOT God!
by Witness 007 insome bibles use the term "worship" when refering to jesus...at times people did fall down and bow to him........this doesn't show he was god!
the greek term; proskeyneo, means to prostrate oneself, to bow down and show honour.
now, this was done for jehovah.....and his representatives....jesus israelite kings and priests....but for the honour of jehovah not as creature worship which even angels would refuse.. also i studied the non-biblical early church gospels which really does show a slow decline over 150 years, into the trinity as the watchtower claims...........although i still hate the watchtower society at least i learnt something that wasn't a lie..

100 years ago Marx said Religion is the opium of the people. Then in 1989 Reagan got Gorby to open up some. In 2009 some parts of Russia said Witnesses were too extreme, (no blood, shunning, arrogance). They didn't learn and change, so they reap what they sow.

Marry Only in the Lord
by Rattigan350 inlast night at the meeting, a local needs talk preempted the regularly scheduled part.
an elder who is the most society following elder talked about loving god and then he talked about bible principles such as marry only in the lord.
he talked of deut.

His reasoning was totally wrong.
He started out talking about God's Commandments not being burdensome if we love God. If that is the case then marrying a Witness will lead to happiness. I did that but I don't have that.
Also, they focus on the negatives, but if it is not burdensome, there should not be negatives for marrying Witnesses, there should only be positives.
As for Deut if they wanted to marry NonIsraelites, why would Jehovah care? it is one or two people out of a million. And as for serving the Canaanite gods, that would mean they would choose the losing side. Did Hitler give any commands that his soldiers could not marry Polish people whom they invaded? Would the Polish want to get with invaders? Would the Germans switch to the losing side?

Some parts of Russia did this in 2009. The WTS learned nothing from that to be less extreme. They got tw

Last night at the meeting, a local needs talk preempted the regularly scheduled part. An elder who is the most Society following elder talked about loving God and then he talked about Bible principles such as marry only in the Lord. He talked of Deut. Then Paul's scriptures. Then it was mentioned that this is a marking talk.
What floored me was when he said that there is a baptized Witnesses after repeated counsel from the elders is continuing to date a non-witness with marriage as a goal. That starts so much gossip. Who is it? S/he is smart, wanting to get a non-judgmental person that wants to make something of him/herself.
The reason that this is a cult.

Russia and the letter writing
by Listener inthis is the whole of the instructions that the watchtower gave jws when writing to russian officials -.
content • you are writing to the official to request his intervention.
express the hope that the russian authorities will stop the legal action being taken against the branch office and the congregations in russia so that our brothers and sisters can continue to gather peacefully for christian meetings without interference.

I like Bibleexaminer's idea to write to them to ask them to continue the ban and show support for it.

the-question (607 BCE explained and proved)
by pleaseresearch inso a user named "the-question" said the jw's were right about 607 bce.. this is your chance brother to prove us all wrong.. we all can't wait to hear from you :).

JWs are correct about 607 and 1914. Somewhat. The theory behind it is that Jehovah told David that his offspring would sit on Jehovah's throne forever culminating in Jesus. But when Jesus was on earth he didn't become king. Infact at that time, David's offspring were no longer in power on Jehovah's throne. Did Jehovah's statement fail?
No, it was paused. The kings in the line of David lost power when they became subject to another government. That happened in 607. In 587 Jerusalem was destroyed. 11 years prior, in 598, Zedekiah became king. 11 years and months prior to that in 610, Jehoiakim became king. Daniel said that 3 years after that, 607, captives were taken. Thus 607 is when the kings in the line of David lost sovereignty for 2520 years until 1914 when Jesus became king.

New light in this weeks WT?
by Indian Larry inanybody have any ideas where they are going with the "new light" they have been pushing last week and this week?
for instance in this weeks study article one section reads:.
in years gone by, we believed that jehovah became displeased with his people because they did not have a zealous share in the preaching work during world war i. we concluded that for this reason, jehovah allowed babylon the great to take them captive for a short time.

That's not new light. I never believed that they went into captivity during 1914-1918.

If Abraham had gone to Kingdom of Heaven, why not John the Baptist?
by anointed1 injesus rated john the baptist as the greatest “among those born of women” (luke 7:28) hence after his death he should naturally go to heaven—especially so lesser ones like enoch, abraham are already in the kingdom of heaven.
(hebrews 11: 5, 6; 13-16).
in view of the direct statement of jesus: “i say to you that many will come from the east and the west to share the banquet with abraham, isaac, and jacob in the kingdom of heaven” (mathew 8:11), people like abraham are definitely in heaven.

"All of these died in faith without having received the promises, but from a distance they saw and greeted them."
The promise to them was never heaven.
But the problem with this belief in heaven is - why hasn't anyone who is in heaven contacted the people on earth?

Did the flood happen?
by BlackWolf inso we were talking about noah for our family worship tonight and it ended with a little debate between me and my parents about how the flood was possible.
you know, where did the water come from, how did all the animals fit, etc.
of course it led nowhere and my parents came up with some strange theories like that there was "an expanse of water in the sky" and that's where all the water came from.
