Minimus, i don't think that telling congresspeople that one is for or against a law violates any neutrality. That is part of how the government works. The government is represented by the people and they are the people too. Taxation without representation is not fair for all.

Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Wrong Regarding Staying Out of Politics?
by minimus inwe were told we were part of the world if we got involved in politics.
if we had employment that had political involvement we were instructed to get another job.
we were told we might be considered disassociated if we voted and then it became questionable.

The Site is Going Down!!!
by BereanThinker7 inso i'm sure many of us here have used the site https://ad1914.com/, apparently the domain had expired.
this site was instrumental to my waking up.
i have been able to use it to direct others to as well since it had a large collection of matters dealing with the validity of the "gentile times" claim.

Phizzy,. It has been debunked from the angle of it starting at Jerusalem's destruction in 607. Which originated from Nelson Barbour moving the date of Jerusalem's destruction 20 years because that would just leave a 50 years captivity.
But the gentile times understanding preceded Barbour and Russell in that it was not based on Jerusalem's destruction but on the invasion in the time of 605-607. So they have been debunking from the wrong point of view.
Russell had a wrong belief, they attack Russell's belief only, but that does not declare the times of the Gentiles itself to be wrong.

Of all the things to complain about, the WT encouraging people to dress better and more sensible should not be one of them.

Here are the reasons for being politically neutral.
In the wars, Christians in German are not going to kill anyone from other countries, including their brothers and sisters in the faith and Christians in these other countries won't kill anyone else, including their brothers and sisters.
Politics divide. Can you imagine the elders or COs or DOs or GB talking politics and telling people for whom to vote and not vote? There would be divisions in the congregation and the organization. Being politically neutral (or at least silent about it) prevents any of that.

Stereotypes exist because there is a great percentage of a group being viewed as doing that.
JWs have the stereotype of being in pairs and standing in doors.
If stereotypes are considered bad, then stop doing those things.
I don't see what is bad about being the fastest mouse in all of Mexico.

"They just exist now and keep afloat by JWs having children."
Except now with no meetings it will be hard for them to find mates.

Well, the ending of the gentile times in 1914 is valid. 2520 years from when the gentile times started in 607 BC when the kings in the line of David lost their sovereignty when Judah was invaded by Babylon and captives were taken.

Rules and Reg said "There is not a pair of jeans or an opened collar to be seen"
That's good. jeans are to be worn when mowing the grass or doing other work. Not for meetings or even court.
People should always dress in the best for court and church and meetings.

snare and racket:
I didn't really have a clue what I was talking about or even understood the words I was using, as they were all phrases, terms and ideas passed on to me by JW literature. I was just parroting them.
The JW's had lied about so, so much ,
I'm not talking about phrases and terms from literature. I'm talking about reality.
Evolution is DNA changing. DNA within the reproductive process, through changing the DNA within the sperm and eggs (that is post sperm and egg) so that the next generation will have mutations. It is thought that the sun makes skin dark and that is why people have dark skin. No. Getting sun burnt does not change the DNA for the next generation.
Threee people commented on my comment, but where is the evidence? Natural selection is defined as "the process whereby organisms better adapted to their environment tend to survive and produce more offspring." That would explain animals with sight adapted to their environment and surviving, but not how they even got eyes. Vocal cords are used for warning others and that would help them survive. But that does not explain the formation of vocal cords and speaking.

When was your last Kingdom Hall meeting?
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini stopped going to kingdom hall meetings about nine years ago.
i was fading for the longest time, refused to go out in field service, dropped out of the ministry school talks, no longer answered at the watchtower study, arrived at the meetings the last second, and left as soon as possible.
i couldn't take attending the meetings any longer.

In the summer of 2019, the congregation that my wife and I attended was merging with another at the Hall. And another congregation at a different Hall was going to start meeting at the Hall at a different time slot to put that Hall up for sale. I had mentioned to her that many Kingdom Halls were being put up for sale to raise money for the lawsuits they had lost. She said I was talking against the organization like an apostate. (We did just have the Watchtower study about child abuse allegations). She then separated from me and left and when many states away to here mothers and sister's. She even had the blessing of the elders for that saying that I was a spiritual danger.
I didn't want people to ask me where my wife was, so I went to the other congregation as they had the meeting schedule that we had prior. After the mergers of 3 congregations to 2, both Sunday and midweek meetings were too full and the parking lots were full. I stopped going all together as I fell through the cracks as there were too many people to notice. Then when the shutdown occurred in March 2020, I checked on here and asked around online and learned of the zoom meetings and cancelations of meetings and assemblies. Once a month I would connect to my dad's zoom meetings. I did that to see old friends from when I grew up. Though I would multitask while doing that and listen to other things. And recently I got a phone call from an elder, one of the ones my wife had talked to trying to arrange a phone call to talk. I blocked his number. A year and a half and now they reach out. The are no shepherds of the flock.
