for pimi pimo persons: give us one text that says those aspiring to everlasting life should not partake of the bread and wine.
in the article, the whole proposition of refusing the emblems is based on the personal experience of one brother in the 1930s.!
all jws partook.
Vidqun:
"To the contrary, note what Jesus says of you if you don't partake: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day” (cf. John 6:48-54 ESV)."
Jesus did not mean that literally that people have to eat and drink anything to get life.
obviously at some point you stopped believing the witnesses had the truth or else you wouldn’t be here.
.
but for the most part, were you a true believer or were you typically a rebel or a doubter?
Minimus, Witnesses have the truth about the condition of the dead and who go to heaven and why. The truth about God and his son. The truth about living well and good lives.
They don't say anything about birthdays. The interesting thing is that now, plantation parties are considered bad because of what happened 200 years ago on plantations; so why aren't birthday parties considered bad because of bad things happening at them in the past?
Yes, we can pick and choose what we can do. We can believe bible truths regardless of the organization.

jhine.
It is simple.
Only 144,000 as Revelation says, get resurrected as spirit being to serve as kings and priests with Jesus. There is no need for anyone else to do that. They have a job to do.
As kings and priests, there will be ones they rule over and intercede for and those ones will be on the earth and those will live for the 1000 years.

Waton, I don't accept what Paul teaches, however those in his time were part of the 144,000 so they would eat and drink of it.
And John 6 does say that anyone who eats of his flesh... That is obviously symbolic. But it does not refer to eating bread on a specific date every year. It means to believe that his flesh died for us. It refers to life on earth as well as heaven.

No. Not for me. I still believe the Witnesses have the truth. But I have always questioned everything. My issue is that they take the Bible too literally and make stupid rules such as considering taking birthday cake as an matter of loyalty to Jehovah; meetings and field service is a command from God; We have to give up everything for the meetings and that they are worship.
after you read the words of jesus in mark 2: 17, you will see that the contrast between the teachings of jesus and the governing body.. .
you clearly read what's written in the bible, but the society is always twisting and bending scriptures to their benefit.
here is stephen lett talking about ''spiritually weak'' members and twisting jesus's words teaching on sinners:.
It’s all about image. You have to make a good appearance of spirituality,
That is the truth especially when dating or being married to a woman Witness. They are only concerned about dating or marrying a CO or an elder or a MS because of how they will look to the congregation. Everything is about how they look to the congregation.

No one today should partake.
Jesus told the 11 apostles to eat the bread and drink the wine and keep doing that in remembrance of him. They were with him for 3 1/2 years. They had person experiences to remember. No one since they died had those experiences. We only know Jesus from reading stories in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. So we don't eat bread and drink wine in remembrance of him. We reread the stories in remembrance of him.
i haven't been to any meetings in the last 9 years.
besides a couple of elder visits here and there, i've been pretty much left alone.
my family has also left me alone, and haven't acted any different towards me.. this week my brother, his daughter and his son all called me to invite me for the next weeks memorial and also my nephew's first sunday talk, which he gave today at noon.
I got a call from an elder a month ago. Then I blocked his number. He called back and then left a text. I wanted to text back saying how poorly they are at shepherding as I have not heard from them in a year and a half, but I decided to not burn any bridges at this time.
When I join my dad's zoom meetings, I listen on the headphone but I have music playing on my speakers since the mics are muted. I read emails and do graphics and multitask.
does using uncle ben’s food products offend you?.

Virginia Tech coach Mike Young takes random shot at Jehovah’s Witnesses at NCAA Tournament
Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Mike Young apologized Tuesday for comments he made during his NCAA Tournament press conference about Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Young, who is in his second season as the Hokies’ head coach, attempted to say they were taking their matchup with the Florida Gators seriously but ended up making the crass comment.
“We’re not playing the Jehovah’s Witness All-Star team here. We’re playing the Gators, man, we’re playing the Gators,” Young said, via WSLS-TV. “I do know who our next opponent would be if we were lucky enough to win, but there’s not a chance in hell you start thinking about anything, nothing—I will not clip about anything but [head coach Mike White’s] Gator team, and that’s the same for my team.
“Earlier today on the NCAA tournament conference call, I attempted to show my respect for our upcoming opponent, the University of Florida. Regrettably, I didn’t articulate that sentiment in an appropriate manner,” Young said. “I apologize for my insensitive remark and am sincerely sorry for anyone I may have offended.”
