  Some Other Terms For The "Big Bang".....

  folks: as you probably all know, it has been speculated that the whole universe, or cosmos, started with what has been called "the big bang.

  " but, i've thought up some other terms for the "bb".

  how about the big boom....or, the big kaboom....or, the big explosion...the big ignition...or...the big cosmic fartation.

  You might be a Jehovah's Witness if.......

  you might be a jehovah's witness if, to not feel guilty on saturday morning, you ride in a car with a group of adults driving in circles around town taking turns to get out one at a time to knock on a door that you hoped no one would answer.. you might be a jw if going on vacation meant going to a summer regional or district assembly where you did not need to pack shorts, tennis shoes, or tank tops.

  you might be a jw if for lunch at the summer convention you and your family ate breakfast food from the holiday inn where you are staying for the summer assembly.. you might be a jw if the first thing that you think about when waking up in the morning is that it is meeting night.. you might be a jw if you introduce a person to another jw, not by the person's name by as my bible study.. you might be a jw if you don't celebrate christmas but will take the money from your employer to not come to work so that you can celebrate it..

  YOU MIGHT BE A JEHOVAH’S WITNESS IF….

  …”pioneer” is not a stereo

  …”New Light” is not something in the housewares department, and “tract” has nothing to do with land or farming.

  …you know when Nisan 14 of the Jewish calendar lands in the Gregorian calendar from year to year, and yet you commonly forget your own birthday.

  …”Memorial Day” isn't in May.

  …you spent days at a baseball stadium, never saw a ball, and didn't even have a beer.

  …you think “formal clothing” and “civic center” belong in the same sentence.

  …you wash windows or cars for a living and still own five suits.

  …you think nothing of letting your friends stop by to use the bathroom.

  …you know the cleanliness of every coffee shop and bathroom for four towns around.

  …you think 2-door vehicles aren’t really cars.

  …you go to Home Depot and go down the aisle where doors are displayed and you feel compelled to knock on them.

  …you can’t buy a pair of shoes without thinking about how comfortable they will need to be while walking residential streets in 95-degree heat.

  …you have a tendency to refer to books by color instead of by title.

  …you have a shelf just for 192-page books.

  …you can’t pick up a book, or anything else to read, without picking up a pencil or highlighter too.

  …you think it is complimentary to refer to someone as “a study.”

  …you have “get-togethers” rather than “parties.”

  …after one of such “get-togethers” at your home, your house is not a mess and you have more food than when you started.

  …you realize things are getting worse, and you’re thrilled.

  Has anyone still in or otherwise heard anything about JWs think we only have 12 months before Armageddon?

  i’ve noticed a change in family attitude recently, like there is just something extra on their mind.

  i even had to call my brother to check if he was dying and too scared to tell me.

  anyway, i saw a video last night my saying jws think we only have 12 months left before armageddon so thought maybe this is the reason for changes attitude.

  back in the day, tons of witnesses were brought in the “back room “ to be counseled by elders because of their dress and grooming.

  some elders frowned on mustaches or hair that went past a certain point on a male.

  women were regularly harassed because their skirt was too long or too short or had a slit on the side.

  Mine was driving a 2 door car in service.

  I was handling the microphones and wore a shirt with the top button unbuttoned under the tie because the neck was too short.

  When I did the count, I walked too far up the aisle to count the people.

  i've been studying the 2520 days/years 607/587/586 debacle.

  for a while now i have felt 1914 was wrong.

  Jeffro, 605 or 607, it does not matter. Chronology from back then wasn't that accurate as they didn't keep good records. If chronology mattered, they would have started counting years when Adam was created or at the flood.

  587 is correct, so is 607 and so is 1914. Why do you all make is so difficult?

  Jerusalem was destroyed in 587.

  Zedekiah was king for 11 years starting in 598.

  Jehoikim was king for 11 years starting around610.

  Dan 1:1 says "In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it." And Daniel was taken captive.

  The 3rd year of Jehoiakim was 607 That started the 70 years of captivity that ended in 537. That also started the 7 times when the kings sitting on the throne of Jehovah would cease being sovereign rulers. That would last 2520 years or 7 times. And that would end in 1914 when Jesus would be sovereign king on Jehovah's throne in heavenly Jerusalem.
