It does not matter. You don't build a religion based on one scripture.

I don't see the problem with the Watchtower quotes. I see problems with your alterations to them.

Red Flags identifying Jehovah's Witnesses as a Cult
by Vanderhoven7 inwhat are some of the red flags that should alert people to the fact that jehovah's witnesses are a high control and damaging religion?.
one that comes to mind is.
1. one cannot leave jehovah's witnesses with one's reputation intact.

"One cannot leave Jehovah's Witnesses with one's reputation intact."
If one leaves, one's reputation is now that of a leaver. Why should the reputation stay anything different?
"You have to believe that Jehovah`s Witnesses are the only true Christian religion"
If you don't believe that JWs are the only true Religion, then you need to go to the one you believe is the only true religion.
"You can read their literature, but they won't read yours."
Not true. I won't take another's, but I'll sit down and we will discuss it.
"They try to separate you from the real world."
Taylor Swift and Oprah do that.

"The Watchtower freely admits it is made up of imperfect men. This is as good as it gets for an apology for getting it wrong. The fact remains - the Watchtower gets it wrong."
Wrong about what??? Why they focus on the Watchtower?
I'm not wrong at what I believe and do. I don't focus on the Watchtower. So why are you?
"So, the only source Witnesses are to get information from is basically a crap shoot. At the same time they claim that their salvation is based on obeying the Watchtower. It is like going to a blind surgeon for a lifesaving medical procedure. Good luck with that!"
You need to remember that the Watchtower's teachings are correct. They can get them wrong, but they are correct. They problem is that they get their teachings from the Bible, such as they follow the apostles. Where do the apostles get their authority to make doctrine such as disfellowshipping and blood?
Also they are taking life from the Bible times and applying it today. They need to open their thinking.

"A couple watch the news. Later, after a congregation meeting, they share with others their strong personal opinions about the meaning of news events. (Bottom) A couple watch a Governing Body update in order to stay current with the latest understanding of Bible prophecy. They offer to others Bible-based publications that are provided by the faithful slave."
This is a good thing. There are people that still look for a cry for Peace and Security from the governments although that is not what the scripture states at all. There was a GB update that said not to look for that cry and it appears that many didn't even notice that.

New Release: Bible Teach book and new light on 1914
by JoeGeneration in"new light!
(looking for opinions on this line of reasoning)
the basis for doing away with the 1914 doctrine may have been laid in this new book.

Alan F was correct in that the Proclaimers book acknowledges that Barbour is not the one that first came up with the time around 1914.
They would not change the start of the 2520 years to 587 because it did not start in 587. The start is not at the destruction of Jerusalem because the prophesy is not about Jerusalem.

Acts 20:28
by Fisherman inacts 20:28 literally says: “his own blood”.
nwt interprets the verse: “the blood of his own son”.
nwt is an accurate interpretation because the verse is axiomatically referring to the blood of jesus and not the blood of god..
-
Rattigan350
"which literally says : "the blood of his own", a subtle difference."
The blood of his own what?
This is why following the Bible does not give the clear answer, so we must use logic.
It can't be God's own blood Not his own blood but the blood of someone else.
And everywhere else in the Bible points to the blood of Jesus, his son.
Thus the NWT is accurate in its meaning.

Reddit is just a place where kids can vent about their parents when the fact is they need the direction of their parents or their parents need to be slapped.
Reddit is like twitter, in that it is just people jumping on the popularity bandwagon, i.e. Democrats, liberals just insulting because they can and it is encouraged.

I think all of you are nuts
"13. No dating Christians or anyone not a JW"
Of course JWs can date Christians. They are the ones in the congregation.
And they are allowed to date Non-JWs.
They can do many things on your lists.
They can be armed security guards. Just because in the past there was a superstition about it does not mean that thinking people hold to everyone's superstition. I would not be a security guard because it is a boring job. But if I were one, I would be like Macguyver and choose not to use guns, not because of a religion but because I feel that guns are for cowards.

About being a police officer. Why can't JWs carry guns? Nothing wrong with shooting bad people.
