People Suck
by Bgurltryal indo people in their existance create much more greif inadvertantly that they cause happiness with purpose?
an action that can seem so small to one person or a desision made with selfish intent can have effects without the action taker or desicion maker even considering or realising it.
selfishness or self absorbation; we focus so much on us that the reprocusions of every little thing we do become inconsequential as long as we or those we care about are 'safe'.. when i was little in the car i would make up stories about people we drove past based on that split second they passed through my life.

Sorry to hear you have a problem. You seem to be very vague about the circumstances, and probably for good reason, but ultimatly you are responsible for your own happiness. If you are happy it is because of your own feelings about what happened to you. If you are unhappy it is because of your own feelings about what happened to you.
I personally was badly burned about 6 yrs ago. I was in a lot of pain and was not necessarily happy about that but I looked at the silver lining and found many things to be happy about. I now look back on that experience with fond memories.
Not long after that experience someone refused to pay $13,000 that they owed me for work I did. (I was a self employed electrician) This caused me to lose my business. Did that make me happy? No! After a short while I decided that this man was not going to affect my happiness.
We are all aware of the expression that money can't buy happiness. And that is true. We all decide by ourselves every day of our life whether or not to be happy. (unless you have a mental illness and that is a different matter). So NOONE can cause you to be unhappy.
Can someone cause you pain? Yes. Physically. If they hurt or kill someone you care about that would be painfull too. But can they cause you pain by something they say. I don't believe so. In that case it is you that is causing the pain. You choose to let those words affect you.
This lecture is more of a rant than a personal admonition. I don't know anything about your circumstances so this isn't directed toward them. It is just general commentary on the subject.

God who??? When you say 'believe', what do you mean. Can anyone prove the existance of god any more definitively than say Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster? Amazing how the definition of god has changed over the centuries. I wonder what god will "look" like in a hundred yrs. NO. I want some kind of evidence before I will believe in anything again. Do we need god to explain how we got here. I don't think so. No more than we needed god to explain the motions of the solar system. Given enough time science will discover the answers. In the meantime I will count on things that are tangible and can be measured, or at least predicted.
This thinking of mine is a direct result of leaving the Borg. I do not want to be that stupid again. I'm sorry if what I say is offensive to some. I do not think that those who believe in god are stupid. I know, that sounds like a contridiction. What I mean is that I will not believe in something that I do not see proof of.

by nicolaou inokay, it's an old question but we haven't examined it here yet so let's have your thoughts.. adam was the progenitor of the whole human race, from his genes sprang the negroid, caucasian, mongoloid, indo-european and every other race on the planet.. the hebrew people were not selected as jehovah's chosen nation until abram had found favour with god so presumably all races were equal in his eyes before then.. so then, what basis is there, if any, for deciding what adam and eve's skin colour may have been?.
could they not indeed have been black or blonde or chinese looking?.
this is a pointless discussion i grant you.

This is a little known fact. Adam was in fact Green. He also had very large eyes and was short of stature.
No, no, no. Wait. Adam WAS black. He was perfect. But then god took a rib from him to make Eve. That made him just a little less than perfect and his true color faded.
No. Wait. Let's see god spoke to Adam in the breezy part of the day and I would imagine that Adam would stand when god was speaking to him. Right? Stay with me here. Now since Adam did not invent fruit of the looms yet, his manhood was hanging free. Now everyone knows that the black man's flacid manhood hangs lower than the white man's so if he were black that thing would have been flapping in the breeze. So therefore my conclusion is that Adam must have been a white man with a shrunken member.
What about Eve though? Personally I think she was a blonde. Need I explain that one?

I've been out about 1 1/2 yrs and about once every 3 months the thought pops into my head for about 10 seconds. What if they were right? It takes about 10 secs to reason the doubts away. (A lot less time than it took to reason away the doubts I had in the Society)
I don't think this is a result of deep seated brainwashing though because I have similar questions pop into my head concerning Government conspiracies, aliens and psychics. I actually takes a little more than 10 secs to dismiss those thoughts. Probably because its entertaining to dwell on.
