What a wonderful man he was. We should all strive to be just like him. Go tell your children that condoms are bad. Lead by example. Don't have sex. Make sure your children know that you're the supreme one by wearing some distinguishing garb. If you find out that a pedophile is working for you, for god's sake, keep it a secret and just transfer the guy somewhere where no one is aware of his habits. In fact, give him a raise while you're at it.

I know the man just died and there are millions that ~~worship~~ love him so I apologize to those who've had their feelings hurt by my comments. I don't love him. If you really are feeling a lot of sorrow for his passing you might want to think about that. Did you feel that much sorrow when Knorr died?

No it isn't. I fully expect that those who are mature enough to handle the discussion will have disenting points of view. If I didn't expect that then I probably wouldn't bother posting.

i know it's not the lightest of topics but the current news coverage of the pope's final hours made me wonder if i'd face things as calmly as he is reported to be doing.

i don't have his faith, or any faith anymore, but i can see how for a true believer that would be a source of strength.. the thing is, a lot of us thought we'd never die.

I've been near death before and my only thought was living. The only thought I've given to death was when I was well removed from it personally. I watched my mother die a couple of months ago and talked with her about continuing without her. It seemed that her thoughts were focused on her family and trying to make sure they would be ok. I honestly think that's what my death will be like. Oh yeah, I also think that I'll be telling stories to my grandchildren as much as possible too.

Or, people who would have been willing to discuss the issues, and there are issues here, will just not post out of disgust at the lack of decorum shown.

I guess I'll have to say it again..........Look at the title on the thread. Do you think you might be offended by the content? Then don't read the thread.

There are plenty of subjects that rub people the wrong way. If they can't participate in the discussion because it offends them, hurts them, angers them or makes their head spin, the solution is simple. Don't participate in the conversation. Jesus Christ. Some of you seem to think that we have some sort of utopian community here where everyone agrees with each other and never says anything that makes you squirm. Well.............Welcome to the real world. People sometimes are insensitive. This is an open forum and I don't remember anything in the "rules and regulations" saying that you can't disagree when someone says that the pope was an incredible leader and good guy. I happen to disagree. Just because he's dying doesn't mean that I shouldn't disagree or say so.

Those of you who are mourning for the imminent loss of your divine representation should probably not even click on a thread entitled "The pope's last poop" or "Is it ok to be critical of the pope yet?????????". That's like going to see an Eddie Murphy concert and complaining that the language offends you. This is a forum where people are encouraged to get things off their chest. It is definitely theraputic to say things that have been caged inside your whole life. That's why we're here. Do you actually think that the majority of people come to this forum so that we can cheer everytime someone hits 10000 posts?

A mature person would try to reason rather than just censor.

I just think it is distasteful (to me) to talk badly about, and criticise someone when they are dying.

Why? Why not? I still haven't heard anyone say why it's in poor taste to criticise someone who's dying as opposed to someone who's already dead.

Auntie Jane, Those were inaccuracies. Perfect opportunity to have a discussion and correct them. I don't think anyone could say that it was hate speech. Come on. "Perhaps you should look at the JW traits you yourself might still have hanging on." That's one of the main reasons I'm posting on this discussion forum. I don't expect everyone to agree with my points. If fact, I actually hope that there will be some who disagree. That makes for great discussions. TimB

Do you honestly think that people won't be offended if we criticise the pope after he's dead? Ha. Maybe we should establish, right now, an appropriate mourning period. Something that suit EVERYONE'S tastes.

Let's talk about all the people who were critical of the US army in Iraq while they were dying every day. Is that in poor taste? Or poor timing? I personally don't think so. But maybe we should ask the moderators their definition of taste before we start a discussion.

Update -- wife given permission new union without my permission

since my last post i found out that my wife lied to get a "vow of faithfullness with another man.

in march of 2004 she asked me to sign an agreement document to give to a lawyer in order to get our marriage annulled.

i agreed only on her promise not to give it to the congregation to be with another man but only for her lawyer.

How do you know when your spouse is cheating on you?

okay, i know this is personal, but i kind of like the annoninimity of the board versus asking my friends who are all also friends with my husband.. my husband went out of the country with a group from work this weekend.

i was supposed to go but had to cancel due to other stuff.

it turned out only 4 ended up going, my husband, a guy, and two women.

Classic cheater MO.------Make the accuser feel silly for being suspicious when caught. Next he will be indignant that you could even think he would be cheating on you. He will point out that you're looking like an uptight jealous wife. If he really was cheating, there he will be angry when he gets home instead of begging for forgiveness.

If I were in bed with someone who isn't my wife and the phone rings in my room, you'd better believe that I'm the one answering the phone first unless I'm in the shower. Innocent or not. If I've gone to the trouble to have coed sleeping arrangements for a co-workers sake I would at least tell the girl that she shouldn't answer the phone. Sounds like he's full of sh%t to me. Your intuition should tell you though.

Sorry you're going through this. It's a painful situation even if he isn't cheating. Hang in there.
