Just wondering if anyone has an idea of how long the average poster lasts online. Is if 3 months, 6 months, 10 yrs? Related question: Why do they eventually leave or stay? ( some have been here forever)
I'll bet someone knows the answer to these questions.
imagination - the brits have far more interesting and equivalent words for the us brain-dead.
for example, thundering dunderhead, planky-bonse, squonka, mole-brain, glaswegian.. though most women over 60 in the inner cities, in a sort of tribal union, all wear the same pale-buff raincoats, similar plastic rain-hats and sensible shoes, and all look like joan plowright, they still manage to have sons who are sas hit men or yorkshire cricketers.. confidence - take for example your common or garden down the pub englishman.
when an employer resorts to comments like 'who sign's your check?
' or 'are you biting the hand that feed's you?
', it is normally due to some perceived or overt violation of loyalty, or simply to shut the employee up regarding the subject matter at hand.. i don't like the tactic, because it is rarely used in a one on one situaltion, but generally in the ear shot of other's, to squelch the matter.

That's just it. I did show proof. Now that you are accusing me of falsely accussing you would you care to show proof or is this were you get my attention again by calling me names.

Could you please tell me where that proof was Alan? I have looked for it and I couldn't find it. I'm not saying you didn't try. I just can't find it.
So far I haven't found anyone who would agree with you on this.
First, when logic and reason are abandoned by people determined to support a wrong premise at all costs, and expression of that premise is slanderous, name calling is often the only way to get their attention on a discussion board such as this. Perhaps not to convince them, but to get their attention. And such name calling, as you put it, is not "elitism" but realism.
That is a fact I picked up from many years experience on discussion boards.

You were asked to show proof of where Xena attacked your friends and you refused to do it over and over.

Wow! Is that your expert opinion or is that some kind of fact you picked while doing research in all that WTS literature?

Here we go again with the word ATTACK! Geesh! Don't you guys know any other words? I did not attack anyone. I will not attack anyone. If I attacked anyone they would be in the hospital and I would probably be in jail. I do not attack. I disagree. When I say enemy, I mean in the sense that we have become polarized by the differing viewpoints on being friends with someone who uses those tactics. It's ok if you're ok with that. I don't mind.

The proof has been posted. It's time for your explaination. I can't wait. Will you please tell us what Alan meant since he refuses to do so and you know his mind so well.
Seeker,
You said:
Name-calling is wrong in my book, and evidently in yours as well. My complaint has to do with attacks on other aspects of their behavior, their style. Not the name-calling, which I don't like and say so.
How obvious is it? The name-calling is Alan's style. That is all I have seen. That's all we have to go on lately. I don't see any deep posts of Alan showing a concern for anyone but himself and a few of his friends. If you say we should just accept that kind of verbal abuse as his style then I say you are sorely mistaken sir. As long as I am around and I see that kind of arrogant, self-righteous bullying I will step in and call them on it. If you choose to stand up for the character of someone like that then expect the recieve some of the same medicine. Reminds me of a line from Lonesome Dove. "You ride with 'em....You die with 'em." Please don't take that as a threat. It was illustrating the point that if you call a bully a friend you automatically call everyone that he abuses an enemy.

You ask for proof again? How many times do you have to be shown?
I have, at least twice, quoted your remark about stupid people biting the hand that feeds them. You chose to call me names instead of defending this fact. I'm getting tired of going back to find those words of yours that show your elitist attitude. It should be proof enough that you resort to name calling when someone disagrees with you instead of using logical reasoning.
However, supporting dogs who bite the hands that feed them is stupid. Have any of you mental giants actually accomplished anything besides patting heads?
'i only know that peace will come, when all our hate is gone...i am searching for the dolphins in the sea...' a line from 'dolphins', rendered at its best by the late tim buckley.. there has been much bad blood being spilled in waves on these pages the past few days.
friends have been set against friends, reputations maligned and real tears shed, it is a truly painful scene to behold.. trying to ride the avalanche of emotions that sweep us along in these word-wars seems to be impossible without leaving behind a trail of sadness and hurt.. so i now pose a question.
the wts would have us believe that it is not possible for persons holding fundamentally differing viewpoints to be true friends, and that inevitably they will fight.
It is possible for friends to disagree strongly but it is not possible for friends to disagree then call names, belittle and show hatred and still be called friends. Do you know anyone like that? Do you know anyone that uses name calling as an arguement? Do you know anyone that calls everyone who disagrees a moron, idiot or braindead?
I do.
And guess what? It's not Fred Hall that I'm speaking of. I'll give you three guesses.
