While i respect cesar millians work and enjoy the show, his books are not very informative. Get a book called "the other end of the leash" by patricia mconnell. very well written, same concepts presented in much better detail.

Dog and New Baby
by awakenyr2004 inwe have a 10 year old shepherd mix and we've had him since he was about 4 months old .
he is a shelter dog and we are not exactly sure of the mix.
he is the best dog i have ever owned.

Thoughts on the new 'God's Kingdom Rules!' book
by sd-7 ini was feeling a little melancholy earlier this week and i decided to start reading wt literature again, just to see what was new and improved.
and it seems that, as has consistently been the case, the more i read of the literature, the more i see that i made the right choice to leave.. the first chapter goes into explaining what the kingdom is, then it looks like they must've essentially cut and pasted from the recent wt study articles about the 'harvest' illustration and about the two groups of anointed = one generation, but there's a third group of anointed who aren't part of 'this generation' (but, i imagine, probably will be someday, i mean, if two groups decades apart in age can be part of one generation, why not three?).
it's interesting, looking at it again after all this time.

Bethel experiences sound like a prison sentence.Why even go?

why would someone subject themselves to this without commeting a crime.. the wife and i went to see bethel in broklyn a few years ago and it was unlike anything i expected.
very cold.. went the bosert hotel and was talking to a brother there and asked how long he had been there, he said 25 years...i asked how old he was.

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

also sounds like you lost your good job BEFORE you faded and therefore clearly not a 'punishment'.

Just curious how the propsed CO change would work considering that CO's were just given extensive power to appoimt and delete elders and servants....? Also, CO's were all just sent a several month long training school. Why invest all that time and new authority in them if they are going to be replaced in a year...? Dosent add up

Its not an accident Gorby. Encouraging people to use electronic means to view written matterial makes it super simple to change history With a minor "app update". The pesky written/printed word has been biting them in the ass for ..... Well 100 years now :)

I have long observed on a local level the playing out of both the "stanford" experiment and "milgram" experment principles and i strongly susspect it applies to the GB as well. People live up to what expected of them. Prior to learnimg the TATT, I have sat in elder meetings and argued with jack behinds, implored them to understand that we have the authority to make decisions that best suit local needs, only to have the rest of the room defer to what they ASSUME the branch would want. The GB likley do the same, only the authority they obey is the imaginary god of the hebrews. It allows them to follow their own subliminal desires and attribuite it to "god"

a key example was the elevation of the watchtower society as "god's visible organization on earth".
