  My impression thus far is exactly what others have said: this was/is A money grab. It was designed to be an ohhh ahhhh moment to the Sheep, a little razzle dazzle with video and getting to gb members, all the while quietly pocketing all the money that would normally go to the local congregation.

  in short, its a trial balloon. nationalizing the program and keeping all the proceeds. A trial run for changing up how the economic of the organization run, the viability of combining congregations and broadcasting everyweek i susspect. It could also change up the model for conventions and rid them of having to rent expensiv facilitie.

  Anthony Morris III... Did he really serve in Vietnam? Something doesn't quite add up...

  born in 1950, he apparently became a regular pioneer in 1971.. but wait.... let's just say that he enlisted (or was drafted) in 1968 at age 18.... depending on the branch of service, he would have to complete anywhere from 2 to 4 years of service.

  yes, duty in hot combat zones was usually limited to 6-months at a time but you still had to serve a total of 2 to 4 years depending on the branch of service.

  assuming he only served 2 years, he would have been 20 years old and discharged by 1970.... how did he get witnessed to, complete a book study, become an unbaptized publisher, get baptized and then become a regular pioneer in less than year???.

  There is no 'Fast track' to pioneering. The rule is nothing but one year of baptism. The vietnam era had stringent hour requirments though, due to the war and people trying to get deferments.... That said im curious About his service as well, although it means nothing in relation to his role as head of the publishing company.

  feeling low today.

  i haven't posted for a long time (forgotten log in details = new username) i'm in a good place with my family now and have built a life outside the religion.. today i found out a good friend has gone back and got himself reinstated to be able to have contact with his elderly mother.

  that is the only reason apparently.

  Are you seriously Suggesting that a single person died of aids Because of a quaratine? I was alive in the 80's when aids was identified and do not recall quaratine ever being practice, at least in the USA. I would suggest most who contracted full blown aids died as result of an infection their body couldnt fight, not quaratine. Perhaps you could cite a case?

  Comparing the flu and ebola is not reasonable. The estimated rate of fatlity for the flu is .5 percent of those that contract according to the CDC. Its an estimate because so many cases are unreported as it is a mild disease. Ebola has a fatlity rate (in its current strain) of over 50%, some sources put it closer to 75%. It also has a 21 day incubation period during which you can be totally asymptomatic. Its a no brainer.

  the new book "gods kingdom rules!

  has taken us back to the 1990's with many pages of blood hero's yes brothers who sued the doctor who saved them...april cadoreth only 14 severe internal bleeding the doc got a court order to give her 3 units of packed red blood cells.

  (alot) and saved her life so she can pioneer.

  this was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!

  will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.

  this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.

  Sigh..... Some are reading waaaay to much into this. That video couldnt cause cause CD, it didnt go over anything or explain anything. All it did was show a publisher using the stupid chart in the nov watchtower on a rv. It was sooo boaring and basic... As sir 82 compared, it was very much like explaining how to make toast. However if it floats peoples boats to think its going to be used on doubters and going to cause people to rethink the religion and have major CD etc etc.... What the hell, i'll join the party.

  Update:!!!!

  at least 20 percent of the pubs in my congregation have begun show doubt since the showing of that video! Several remark they were confused as to how the meeting ended on time! One even stated "i had a long day... Im looking forward to getting some sleep" ! Clearly this is having major impact. I look forward to hearing more awakings as a result of this illconcived ploy by the wt organization
