I disagree. To those over 50 yea it means something.... To the majority, no. They have been conditioned to accept the ever changing nature of "truth" and couldnt care any less about a change in organizational structure from 40 years ago. Its all about "organization" and those men were just cogs in the machine, not an authority to themselves to be heeded if its incovient to current "truth

Distibution is still done to assembly halls not to kingdom halls.
The real news is that the org bragged for decades that they could do it cheaper on their own. I think it also says something about overall predictions on tonage shipped. If its cheaper to outsource then they are clearly signaling a downturn in quanity moved.

God is love, but if you dont love him back he will slaughter you!
by BU2B inthis was one of the things that first got me thinking.
i noticed how in books like "draw close to jehovah" they paint god as a loving, warm, just god who does not desire any to die.
i could not love him at all, let alone with my whole heart.

He is loving and kind in that you wouldnt be happy in his new world and he has to remake the world because of all the evil in the world. Of course he only has to remake the world when convient for him to do so. The last 7 thousand years it was ok for the world to be wicked

DELIGHTFUL DROP IN MEMORIAL ATTENDANCES: 2011 VERSUS 2014!
by steve2 inthe us kingdom ministry shows the collective total 2014 memorial attendances of the countries that now comprise the us territory in 2014: 2,610,810.. those countries are: the usa, bermuda, jamaica, turks and caicos and puerto rico.. the same collective total for those same countries three years ago - 2011 - was 2,666,592.. that's a decrease of 55,782 from 2011 to 2014. i am happified.. while there has been the occasional year in which memorial attendances from one year to the next have shown decrease, this is a first: decline evident over a three-year period.. comments please!.
.
anyone have the know how on how to provide the link for the kingdom ministry download?

To clarify, steve82 i absoutly supprised as well, and especially given the hype and campain etc etc, but that just shows how unimportant it really is, frankly. I also have had it intimated to me that the reason there have been several reshuffles in what territories are assigned to what branch is to hide these incovient numbers. A decrese can be painted as simply a result of some publishers being moved and counted with another branch while an increase can be portrayed as the desert gods blessing. Its all a shell game

As a theory i support day of the week influancing attendance. I see it locally. For 99% of congregations it represented an extra midweek meeting, a burden. It definatly hurt attendance compared to a sunday. Conventions prove that sunday events get better attendance. I assume most view it as a lost day anyway.

More JW bragging about the Landover, MD. convention. Please have barf bag at the ready before reading
by AndDontCallMeShirley inthe following e-mail is circulating among jws about the international convention at fedex stadium in landover, md.
note the all-too-familiar jw claims: everything they do (including the simple act of parking cars) is proof of jehovah'stm blessing, and everything wt did at the convention was the fastest, greatest, best ever.
oh, and the never-fails-to-get-mentioned alleged 'persecution'/resistance from some unnamed authority who tried to get in watchtower's way and hamper the effort...but jws prevailed anyway (as always):.

This reminds me of someone who once commented that that the Jw's god only seems to intervene when its parking or food, thus making him the god of parkinglots and resturants. I have to find the exact quote, it fits so well here....

There were actually 58k friday and saturday, about 60k sunday, just for accuracy....
That said, friday a complete and total cluster *****. As one astute comment pointed out, it was a typical work day in DC traffic. There was a major accident (unrelated to jw traffic) on the 495 (the major highway around DC and a manjor feeder route for FedEx field). sat and sunday were much better, as the astute poster noted.... BECAUSE IT WAS A WEEKEND.
lastly, as was noted already, the whole 'fastest ingess and egress' is a totally and utterly unprovable and unquantifiable. Stricktly annicdotly, i go to fedex at least once a year for football games and friday traffic (in and out) was by far worse than anything I have ever experianced. Saturday and Sunday, while they better, were not better ( subjectively of course) than a game day.
Typical JW hyperbole

While i respect cesar millians work and enjoy the show, his books are not very informative. Get a book called "the other end of the leash" by patricia mconnell. very well written, same concepts presented in much better detail.
