i'm thinking around 20% have serious doubts and 99% have some doubts but keep them from becoming conscious to avoid cognitive dissonance.
this is becoming increasingly harder to do over the fact that the governing body are showing their true colors and the contridictions are so great..

this seems like a very good site on the subject.
https://sites.google.com/site/yahwehelohiym/an-ancient-view-of-god/one-god-or-many-gods.
one scripture that was mentioned that was very intersting to me was judges 1:19 where is says that the lord or yahweh was with judah and they drove out the mountaineers but could not drive out the people of the lowlands because they had chariots.
Crazyguy,
That text is an old favorite of our very own Adamah. Its context, however, shows that it were the hebrews of Judah, not Yahweh, that couldn't drive the cananites away. The charriots were their excuse. And the broader context shows that other tribes simply didn't bother enough to drive the cananites away completely. Apparently they were too tired to wage war and simply got soft and let them stay, much against Yahweh's orders.
To use that text as "evidence" that Yahweh isn't powerful enough is lame, to say the least.

recently attended a sad.. bethel speaker was gushing about the wt's embrace of new technology, in the part of his talk warning about "apostate" web sites.. a loose summary of his comments:.
"and the brothers at headquarters have made it very safe for you to go to our website.
in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.
I was at the start of a forum that gathered members that used to post on the (now defunct) forum of E-Watchman (Robert King).
I suggested we registered it as www.e-jw.org, which was the name that ended up having. Note how close it is to the official www.jw.org :D
Doesn't seem to attract many new curious people, though, although I'm not a forum administrator there. But it was fun to be able to register that website name.

Cantleave, you're a serious candidate to a stroke or heart attack. I'm sure you're aware of that, buddy. ;)
in any case, you do look a lot more relaxed now.

(acts 1:8)8 but you will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in jerusalem and in all judea and samaria and to the most distant part of the earth.
by "divine providence" what did jesus' followers become known as?.

They have nothing left to say!
That just about sums it up for me. Without Freddy Franz, there's no more deep oracle to come up with lenghty prophetic interpretations with multiple types and antitypes occupying entire afternoons. Just as the literature is being dumbed down, so are the conventions. Less to say also means $$savings$$ in venue rentals.
What part of "shut up and obey" are we not listening?

re: adjustments in organizational terminology and assembly arrangements .
I have the slight suspicion that there is more to the change from "district" > "regional" than just semantics. By common-sense definition, a "region" is broader than a "district". The implication of this is likely that the summer conventions will be fewer in number, but bigger, with more congregations assigned to one "regional convention". This way, the local branch office will save some $$$ in venue rentals, perhaps reorganizing the branch territory into "regions" rather than "districts" and cutting down a few conventions and a few Disctrict Overseers from their payroll.

after reading another thread on pedophiles i was wondering if there is a pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information?
it seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported.
are we becoming a nation with no morals at all?
What Phizzy said raises one interesting - and uncomfortable - question:
What if:
It is just possible that such research may throw up the fact that Paedophiles are born that way, as Homosexual people are. That would not of course in any way justify the behaviour, but it may show that lifelong treatment and help is necessary to restrain them.
Homosexuals say that research proves that they are born that way, so it's cruel to try to change them by means of 'treatment' or 'indoctrination', and much less punish them. They fight for acceptance. That's the current state of affairs.
But what if, by the same token, research proves that paedophiles are also born that way? Will it be cruelty to try to change them by means of 'treatment' and 'indoctrination', and enforce punishment upon them? Will it be reasonable that they also start fighting for acceptance?
Is paedophilia an innate sexual behavior? Is homosexuallity an innate sexual behavior? What makes one "pathological" and "criminal" and the other "non-pathological" and "accepted" ?
I know, these are uncomfortable questions, but they need to be asked.
