I'm an active MS in a congregation and in good standing. While I disagree with a significant amount of the teachings of the GB, I still see no reason enough to leave. I may dislike the leadership, but I love the "sheep" :) Besides I got family in the "truth" so that complicates matters. ALso, all my friends, people I really love and care for, are there. I would be a bit lost if I'd leave, honestly.

Ex-Elder, for a few years, stepped down for burnout and other personal reasons. Sometime ago I was made a MS and I'm always getting "encouragement talks" to seek reinstatement as Elder.

in a watchtower article from 2010 i found a jesus who looks.
similar to the angel in the organizational sheet.
If indeed the front angel is Jesus, then who is the other angel prominently depicted behind him? Michael, the archangel? This would also require a change in the teaching, because so far, Michael has been identified with Jesus, although many scholars outside the WTS disagree with this view.

Linda Lovelace, known for her role in the iconic "Deep Throat" said in her late years that she performed many of the scenes in that movie at gunpoint. But I agree that it is the exception. Most actors in the industry do it willingfully for the easy, quick money. And apparently it pays well.

It's not like me to get conspiracy theories started, but I can see the writting on the wall that "1914" is about to change big time .... in what form and with wich face-saving theology adjustments, I am yet to see. But surely, in good Watchtower style, it will be under the pretext of "new light", the blame for false expectations will be thrown into "some" who got ahead of themselves, and the organization is to be trusted at all times, and nevermind what the apostates were saying, because they are wrong because we are right. Something along those lines.

with all the recent efforts by the society to stifle publication of their recent boe letter i have been re-reading it and thinking again about some of the consequences of what this letter really means.. i've had some thoughts so am just throwing them out there to see what the rest of you might think.. firstly, i have absolutely no truck with the core issue regarding the lack of disclosure to the authorities when child abuse is suspected or alledged.
although there are very good reasons for the biblical precedant regarding two or more witnesses this really cannot be forced to apply to this issue.
in the time of the mosaic law, the "elders" were the top level of authority - they were the police, judge and jury - responsible for civil, criminal and spiritual matters.

I don't know, of all the known reports of pedo activity among the JW's, what percentage is of predators engaging its victims in the field service, D2D or bible studies. My perception is that such percentage is low. Nevertheless, it would be a good idea to NEVER allow such person to go on the field service alone, without supervision from another JW who knows about his situation, and never be allowed to conduct Bible Studies in households where there are children.
Everything that goes beyond these reasonable measures becomes unreasonable and frankly unrealistic. If that person then goes and molests a child from his neighbors, or a relative's, is that to be blamed on the congregation? There's only so much a congregation can realistically do.

That's why I also advocate that when a pedo (or ex-pedo) is reinstated, or when he is df'd, or when he moves into another congregation, all parents in the congregation should be privately informed, and the entire body of Elders and MS should be current with the situation.
Also agree that there should be some common sense in cases when the offender was a minor and the victim was not a child, but a minor as well, as per the given example of a 16 year old boy that has consented sex with a 14 year old girl, as an example.
