this was my first post on here...... https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/177753/hi-hope-am-welcome .
there have been a lot of changes since then .. i am healthier, happier, wealthier.
i have put the jw's well and truly behind me.
Congratulations Cantleave! 10 years is a landmark worth pointing and celebrating.
And a big thank you. Looking back now, it was because of people like you, cofty, and others that got me thinking beyond the mere “JW’s are wrong about the truth”, and take the hard path of examining the foundations of faith and belief and conclude that the very foundation of those - the revered sacred writings - are just totally human musings, and often not very benign ones. There is no revealed “truth” to put faith on, only facts to be dealt with.
Life does make much more sense now, and I’ve never been happier. There are sequels from all the time my family spent in there, but we’re dealing with them, and as the petty JW world fades into the distance, we feel we gained much more than we have lost by leaving.
All the best to you. If you ever come to Lisbon, let me know.
i knew of several elders who would tell their wife's everything that happened in a committee meeting.
he is still and elder and very old but i doubt he has changed.
we used to call him.
Anyone know of elders NOT talking private KH matters to wifes?
There, fixed it for you.

763-764 - paul was known as the “apostle to the nations.” he produced “the signs of an apostle”.
(2 cor.
It is clear from Acts and from Paul’s rants in Galatians that the other apostles never accepted him as an “equal”.
oh, yes, the society even admitted they had a problem with their leaders.
a january 1, 1986 watch tower article (p. 13) stated: “shocking as it is, some who have been prominent in jehovah’s organization have succumbed to homosexuality and child molesting.” .
in the watchtower article, they didn’t disclose the rest.
I have heard long time ago from a relative who served in Bethel branch in Portugal (and now a CO), who was the young protegé of a veteran missionary from Argentina named Álvaro Berecochea, who in turn was a very close friend of Frederick W. Franz (uncle of Raymond Franz), that the reason why RF was dismissed from Bethel had been homosexuality. The smearing of RF’s reputation seems to come straight from the top of the organization. With relatives like that, who needs enemies?
just saying i’m still alive and greeting everyone, veterans and newcomers to this forum.. 2018 was a year with a lot of turmoil in my life; me and my wife separated, then reunited months later, and spent the second half of the year healing the emotional wounds from that episode.
that, along with a record year in terms of my business meant that choices had to be made regarding my time, and i decided to focus on my marriage instead of other endeavours.
it seemed to have paid off.
Thanks for the kind words.
It would be a shame that a mental illness would defeat a 25 year old marriage of two people who actually love each other very much, but sometimes that’s precisely when things go south very quickly and you’re caught off guard. Fortunately we both did what had to be done to backtrack on the course we had taken. We’re fortunate to still have each other.
the deeper you dig--the less impressive jw’s become!___________________you may think you know the men who are vitally important to the birth of the religion--but chances are good you’ve been kept in the dark.. _____________.
did you know?the 1st case heard by the supreme court of the united states concerning the watchtower society involved a director (an officer) of the watchtower, william franklyn hudgings.. a brief description of hudgings and his character.hudgings was an attorney, quack doctor, self-identified ‘scientist’, a pro-zionist, and religious enthusiast who over the years held various director and officer positions in the watchtower society, and the affiliated people's pulpit association and international bible students association.
at the time of this particular case, william hudgings acknowledged being the corporate secretary of the people's pulpit association and acknowledged that his daily duties included the administrative charge of printing of the watchtower magazine, the bible student's monthly, the kingdom news, and other watchtower publications.. (hudgings was also re-elected to the watchtower society board of directors in january 1919.
I was aware that Russel and Rutherford had borrowed a grat deal of their their distinctive theologies from other more obscure preachers, but you provided the big picture framework. Awesome job, very enjoyable, Terry.
