I'm at no. 5.
I don't believe there is a god in a literal sense, but I think of the unseen forces around us as gods of a sort.
here is your map:.
1. i suspect the truth isn't what i thought it was.. 2. omg--i realize i've been lied to and duped.. 3. what should i do?--i don't want to lose my wife, kids, family, friends, dog, pet hamster .
.. 4. what if jehovah's witnesses really do have the true religion and it's simple human error screwing it up?.

last summer was pretty crap for me.
lots of "social" things going on in the congregation but i wasn't invited.
you know what i mean, hey??.
How wonderful, congratulations Quelly!
it is commonly known by jehovah's witnesses, the marriage of pastor c.t.russell and his wife maria (moe-rye-uh) was an uneasy one.. the marriage itself was founded on a weird interpretation of "virginity" and "purity" as only an obsessive-compulsive.
puritan fanatic might find agreeable.
the two of them were not to share a bed (or physical relations.).
Thanks Terry. What an eye opener. Very interesting.
happy birthday, canada.

Too cute!
okay so i'm dating a born-in jw woman, she's younger than me and has no kids.
i'm a christian man whos divorced with 2 kids.
we're in love and seriously want to be together.
I'm so sorry she was DF'd.
i'm lost for words. It's not the right or compassionate response that should have happened.
although i have been out for 8+ years, my recent experiences with this have taught me quite a bit.
i believe most here would claim this is what mind controlled people do when they are in contact with a known "former" believer, so i think some deeper understnding of what is really going on is in order.. i always asked why is the "mind control" so effective and how do the organizations that intiate it, learn how to?
i never really could find a satisfactory answer.
Thanks d4g, I really appreciated this.
i knew it was coming.
i'd managed to swerve it once already when i saw the paper invite laid out all special in my mothers kitchen when i arrived at her house..i avoided the kitchen for the rest of the visit.. had the family over this weekend, we were alone whilst preparing food and i knew from the second that the tone in her voice changed what was coming.
the usual words along the line of "i invite you every year, i've got the paper invite to give you as well (like that would make a difference?!
Yesterday, I too received the call - an email from my sister, after a year of little or no contact (and she just lives down the street), asking if i would like to come over...(lol, kind of like me with posting here ...)
But seriously, thanks Really for posting this. It gives some comfort knowing we're not alone. I've also been out for decades. It's so odd how they can turn something inside out and twist it into something that it isn't. I would (and have) gone just to please them, but I can't take the looks of presumed 'pity' and sympathies saying we miss you. They just look on us as being lost, when it's actually them. If I could find a way of going with respect and dignity, I might try it again. But unfortunately they won't be able to treat others with respect, it's too bad.
My 2 cents.
Wishing you all the best.

So sad.
first 30 min announcing a collection of bibles collected from r & f that is to go on display at bethel.
also accounts of how they "miraculously" received bibles that they didn't think they could get - eg.
geneva bible.. now - watchtower study review as there is no meeting tomorrow..
Thank you to all who made this available. You are gems!
So "loving kindness" is now "loyal love".
Koolaid all around...
at the meeting this week, there was a part about placing our trust in jehovah and not worrying about food and shelter (mat 6:33).
the part was based on the 2013 yearbook p138 and 139 where there were two examples:.
a family went to their convention leaving their chickens unattended for a number of days, worried about if they would survive.
19 missing chickens = animal cruelty = not inspired of god to me
