its been a tough 6 months for my jw hubby and myself.
next saturday is our anniversary.
i wasn't sure we would make it with the turbulance of the last 6 months.

There should be no reason why you can't keep your cross = belief. Your husband knows you aren't a witness. Does he think the cross is possessed? I know he probably thinks he has a right to say what you do, because that's what he's taught. So sad he's bringing this all into your life and marriage.

i just finished reading this book, by our terry, and i thorougly enjoyed it.
terry has an amazing gift for words and expression - as most of you already know - and he lured me in from the very start.
reading this book is an actual experience... and i don't want to say much more than that, because i don't want to color your experience as you read for yourself.. .

i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.

here's a bit of a story for you... .
on the weekends, i go to a local restaurant/coffee shop and spend some time there reading, studying, taking notes, etc.
i also get a light breakfast with my 6 to 10 cups of coffee.
Christmas is such a joyous season. I remember my first Christmas after I left, I felt like a little kid I was so happy. Tears filled my eyes as I opened my presents.
After that one year, my Mom found out my work had sent me a Christmas basket, and told me I should send it back. I still shake my head, how can they be so totally off base.
i am very happy that my dear old mom is finally seeing the truth about the "truth".
what hit her like a ton of bricks is the latest wt.

Everytime I think of my family, I just shake my head. I so wish they would acknowledge at least something, but, alas, it's all about obedience with them.

i recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years.. she is 40 years old, with health problems, financial problems, little family/friend support, and facing an uncertain future.
i gave her some money.. the guilt i am experiencing right now is absolutely anguishing.
she had very, very high hopes about our relationship and loved me very deeply.
Breaking up can be so difficult, especially if you haven't been through a hard one before. I don't pretend to know what you're going through, but I have been through one where I did go back, and it was a mistake. All the old problems and reasons we broke up for in the first place were unresolved, nothing had changed. So if you're still thinking of going back, I 'd recommend getting professional advice first.

the subject from friends thread was simply : are jw,s more negative or more disordered than normal people?.
i was 10 15 years ago an elder.
I know my uncle used to pioneer, but had to leave for health reasons. He's also an elder. He's had some very serious health issues, as has his wife, over the years.
It can't be easy, living on window washer wages, being at the beck and call of everyone in the congregation, and trying to please the society at the same time.
He needs to learn how to say No Thank You as we'll, Bugbear. He thinks nothing of taking a phone call during dinner, when he has company - and it happens quite often. Elders and MS's phoning about this and that, right at dinner time.
so, being that it is 2013, i recall that it was 50 years ago, that the "around the world assemblies" were held.
for those of us who lived in southern california, the first week of september was when we had the assembly, and it was held at the rose bowl in pasadena.
yep, the rose bowl, with no seats, per se, but just those hard benches as seats.
I was at The Rose Bowl in 1963.
Was pretty young at the time, so I don't remember much - but I do remember going to Disneyland!
