  You are right! And to answer your question I was a good JW and didn't watch R rated movies...until about 23, then I went all out and started watching horror movies. My 2 all time favorites are Predator and Alien. I have some R rated movies and I would just make sure they were in my sock drawer or under the bed. Now I don't care.

  It's just a control thing on the WTBT$ part. It's the same thing with video games. I've heard specific video games by name mentioned from the platform, but you can never find those same games written down in any publication.

  I was just talking with a co-worker this morning, and we were talking about how the more control someone tries to exert and the more "freedom's" you take away that will lead to people rebelling more. We were talking about kids, but the same idea can be applied to the Borg. The more freedom's WTBT$ take away from people the more JW's that will slip through their fingers. (I think that was a line from Star Wars too "the tighter your grip (Vader) the more star systems will slip through your fingers") I think we are starting to see this now.

  I find it amazing how the more WTBT$ is telling the R&F don't go on the Internet, there are still new people joining us every week. It's the same with movies and entertainment. The more they say don't do this...they are doing it.

  so my husband's brother called him this morning.

  i will call his brother earl (fake name :) so earl calls him out of the blue, hubby hasn't talked to him in a few months.

  earl was never baptized and left jw's in his later teens and the family has also thought he was a low life and the black sheep of the family.

  @ Billy: I think I will use Andre now to refer to my husband...hehehe I like that! I wonder if WT would publish this article? There are in need of more writers and new articles.

  @ Found Sheep: That is so sad. Most of the JW are never really free even if they are df'd. Breaks my heart.

  @ Tornapart: We are hoping for a whole clan :) My opinion (for what they are worth) is that it's pretty useless to talk to the JW's who are still active and "in" So what I've been doing is talking to people I know who are ex-j-dubs because maybe they left but don't know TTATT, so if I can show them, and they accept it, who knows who they will talk to, their family, friends? It's like the snowball affect. I'm still saddened to have lost my grandma, but if I can help one other person to not lose theirs or some other member of their family, then it's worth it. Maybe I can't wake up my grandma, but maybe I can wake up yours, or your mom/dad..etc, and if I do then I'm happy. And you never know, maybe in a few years one of you will talk to my grandma and wake her up. The best thing for all of us is not to lose hope.

So Earl and hubby still talked and they were always there for each other so to speak.

  This morning, Earl and hubby were just talking about random things and then one of their other brothers were mentioned, and Hubby asked Earl if Bob was still going to meetings, and the next thing I hear from my hubby is he is telling Earl that we are no longer JW's. I was shocked because my hubby hasn't wanted to tell his family because well they are psycho and will get the elders involved...etc. Plus Hubby has been wanting to do things on his own terms. I was shocked when he told Earl this.

  First thing Earl did was ask what we did to get Df'ed...hahaha Earl still understands how J-dubs work...So my husband just started telling him TTATT.

  Earl always had doubts and thought what the JW's taught was pure bullsh*t. Earl and his wife (wife was never a JW), wanted to know everything!!! Of course with TTATT, there is just so much to cover, so Earl AND his wife wanted us to send them the info. We gave them JWN, JWFacts and JWStruggle. Help me if I forgot one???

  Earl even though he isn't a JW, he still has always felt that pull from the JW because it has been from their mom. She is the type of person who will tell you to your face that you are going to die at the "big A" because you are not a J-dub and blame your rotten life on the fact you aren't a JW. I do know people even after leaving still feel the pull back to the JW life. My friend Stubborn disbeliever she had been away from the cult for 9 yrs or so and she didn't know TTATT until I told her and showed her JWfacts. She told me she always felt there was something wrong about this cult, but never knew, she had no proof. And just not to long ago she did a post on Facebook saying how she finally feels free and empowered.

  So this is actually good news for my husband because he has a big family and he has been so worried about losing all of them and after he got off the phone with Earl, he broke down and cried, he at least has one of his family members now! And Earl WANTED the info on TTATT, because he is tired of the guilt trips the mom lays on him. Hubby is hoping since Earl is in the same state as most of the family, he can then talk to the other "weak JW" family members and try to wake them up!

  It's been an exciting morning :)

  Baptism of a chid and an elder's response to my objection

  i just learned that an 11 year old kid is taking the questions for baptism.

  as soon as his father finished tellig me this, i told him that he should make his son wait, but he responded that he couldn't go against jehovah' spirit.

  i gave the guy a break because he is the uneducated and naive immigrant who puts his heart, not his mind, into the religion.

  So sad. My husband's nephew was wanting to get baptized at 9...For some reason though after going through the questions, the elders told him he had to wait...The parents were royally pissed off, but I'm glad the elders said no!!!! I have no idea why they said no, but the kid is 11 now, and he's starting to get kind of rebellious. We are both hoping he doesn't get baptized!

  I was 10, and now I wish I never had been baptized!!!! I had extreme pressure from people.

  i am 3rd gen born in but have been inactive for a few years but always had the intention to make another go of the truth, but not now that i know ttatt.

  i became inactive due to the inhumane treatment from family members who are elders.

  I so happy that you have awoke to TTATT, I know exactly how you felt about when you learn TTATT. You definitely go through the dazed and shocked time period. Keep learning and studying. Just be very careful about talking to people or even making comments at meetings. What I've noticed is even though people make comments during meetings the general JW won't even catch it. I know it's hard when you are trying to figure out your exit strategy, but there is no safe way to leave. My family found out my parents and I were inactive (parents are on here too) and all of my family called us apostates and then started telling our friends.. We lost everyone even though we were "inactive." I wish you the best and I'm here if you need me :)

  Having children is bad

  went to the weeknight meeting this week for the first time in a long while.

  the study was all about how having children was ill-advised in this time of the end- the comments dwelled on what a burden children are, how you can spend more time in the ministry without children, and look what they did in jerusalem- they cannabilized their own children!

  it's going to be so horrible to watch our children suffer during the great tribulation!

  And this is way I always had nightmares as a kid, and was always so scared of the "Big A" and Great Tribulation.

  This kind of crap pisses me off, this is why all the JW kids are psycho's...yes I know I'm making a general statement here, but I know so many who have kids with behavioral problems. My husband's nephew is one of them!!!!!!!!! This kid is going to turn into a serial killer, he's so terrible!!!!!

  Please keep your kids from this. They don't need to go through the same trama as me and others. Please save them from the borg.

  well a picture says a thousand words!

  i had a tattoo done today.. it was actually interesting because as i was chit chatting with the tattoo artist, she asked me if this tattoo symbolized anything....well actually it does i told her.. me: i was a jw and they are strongly against tattoos or anything that is really "normal" for people.. tattoo artist: i know all about jw, my ex-girlfriend's family was all jw, and i remember one time going over to her parents house and her grandma sat us both down and made us read some scriptures from her bible as to why we were going to hell.. me: actually you will due at armageddon, that is the jw thing.. tatt artist: oh right that is what her grandma said.

  i forgot about that, you're right.. so then the rest of the conversation was just me telling her it's a cult and i told her never listen to any jw who comes knocking.. something else interesting that happened just before i came on here.

  exwhyzee: No worries my friend. I wasn't offended or mad I promise!!!! It is hard to read people's emotions on a forum where you can't see body language or see the emotion. You can't really get to know a person's personality. I will tell you the one thing that I will always regret is the fact my husband and I listened to Watchtower regarding having kids in this system...and now we can never have our own children. I will always regret that more than getting a tattoo. I just wanted to share that with you.

  Edited to add: My dad, mom (Newly Enlightened) and hubby (TheDarksideHasCalledMe) are all on here now. The four of us left together.

  Facebook 101, Help for Faders

  i know i'm going to get bagged on for this, but i'm really just trying to help those who are fading if they have facebook or are on any social media outlets.. first off let's review.. .com stands for commercial.

  .net stands for network.

  ....etc.. so facebook.com is a commercial site, meaning they are trying to sell you something....or specialized advertising trying to get you to buy something because of your browsing history.

  I think most of the time people don't know how open their lives are....There is no privacy.

  I remember before I deleted all my JW friends and family from my Facebook, my husband's sister Stacy was spying on me and keeping track of my comments to my sister-in-law Wanda, the wife of hubby's brother Jerry. Wanda and Jerry had just had a baby and posting pictures of the new little one and so I made the customary nice comments "Oh she's so cute, look at that smile, she looks like you or she looks like Jerry...etc"

  So Stacy calls up my husband and is asking him what he thinks of me talking to Wanda and becoming buddy buddy with Wanda. The my mother-in-law calls up my hubby and pretty much does the same thing and then warning my hubby to watch me because I will turn into a horrible person like Wanda (Wanda is not a terrible person, other than being a JW that is ). Later I find out Stacy and my mother-in-law are gossiping about me and of course it is all false stuff, and they lied to my hubby and told him I did some things. Thankfully my hubby knew right away they were lying because I never keep anything from him...

  So I'm the type of person who will confront you if I have a problem with you, so that is what I did to Stacy and my mother-in-law. The Sh*t fit the fan and we all got covered in it, so I told both of them enough and deleted them from my Facebook...to this day Stacy will not talk to me and my mother-in-law is still bat crap crazy anyways. And the rest of the family all think I evil now because of what Stacy told them...Just wait til they find out I'm an evil apostate! Anyways all I was doing was telling Wanda nice things about her baby. Most of the members from my hubby's very large family hate me. I don't care because they are all terrible people anyways, and I don't just mean because they are JW's
