so now what?
by Kaltas1 ini don't really know what to say i'm a bit nervous.
but i am new here and i want to say thank you all for these forums and the many contributions people have made.. for about 9 months i been frequenting here and other places on the net while i have undergone an in depth bible analysis.
after finding that my bible is not consistant with the more favorable options of translating greek words especially in key doctinal areas, i have concluded the great unlikelyhood of jehovah's witnesses having god's blessing and approval.. not just that though.

An apostate goes public
by Borges ini mentioned in a thread some weeks ago ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/244078/1/first-public-talk-as-an-apostate ), that i was invited to give a talk at a symposium about cults.
this will take place at the first weekend in may.. i'm going to talk about the difficulties you have to face when leaving the jw.
yesterday i've got an another invitation to speak to a senior year class in a middle school.

Not sure if anyone else has recommended this, but you should record it and post it on Youtube. I think the more us X-JWs can get out there and educate the general public it will help. We might not be able to save the people still in the cult, but we can help people not to get suckered into it.
I'm actually considering the same thing, I'm going to talk to a local Church and see about giving some talks about being raised a JW and also being a woman. I'm going to try and talk my dad into doing it also.

by serenitynow! inso i went to the hall today for a funeral and took a look at the bulletin board.
i was surprised to see a letter stating the dc for michigan would be held at the local assembly hall instead of the big convention center in ohio where it had been held the past few years.
have you all heard about this?.

Yes list only applies to the rank and file. If you're and elder or elders kids.....this list doesn't apply to you.
I know of a young lady in our old hall, she snuck out of the house on her prom night and went.....later it was going around just group of kids that she had sex with her boyfriend,escort, date for the prom....did anything happen to her? NOPE!!! even after 9 months there was a new baby in the hall, nothing happened to her.

it was just after ten, and with me being a bit flu-ey i was quite capable of staying in bed longer.
hubby was feeling it too, and we were pleasantly drifting in and out to the sounds of birds.. then suddenly, cloomp, cloomp, cloomp up the front stairs, then "rap-rap-rap" on the front screen door, that rapid-fire, strong knock of the practiced door-knocker.

I'm so happy and proud of you Julia!!!!! You handled yourself very well and you didn't give in to him.
I'm sorry but I didn't see the kindness coming from him during his visit. Of course I wasn't there so I couldn't actually see it, but how you describe it is how they (all of them) work. They come to you faking love and concern out of one side of their face and then out of the other side of their face they are ready to devour or stab you in the back. Best advice, DON'T let your guard down, ever! Even if they come to you in a "loving matter" that is when you should worry the most.
As far as Facebook, I deleted all the JW's off of mine, problem solved! The WT has all JW trained so well to spy on people and if someone starts going out of line or doing questionable things, then they go run to the elders.
How did your husband react to this? Did it help him even a little to see TTATT?

april 1st was my 6 months of not reporting service time and i am officially inactive now.

I've heard from many of my friends who have gotten tatts that if it's a bony area it hurts more, but if it a "padded" area it's not that bad :) My shoulder is very bony so I'm thinking it will hurt a lot.
I love the idea of your design, can you draw it up yourself? My husband is also designing another tatt I MIGHT get later. He actually told me to get both...I love a supportive husband who isn't a JW hehehehehehe.....He even said he would like one but he wants a tribal tatt, and he actually wants his tribe to do it....he'll be waiting for awhile :)
When you get yours designed let me know. I'd love to see a picture :)

Thank you all! I'm not too worried about the elders seeing or catching us doing anything..for one, me getting the tattoo is about the most worldly thing I will be doing :) and I don't think the elders hang out at this place because it's downtown, and right next to the state university. About the only thing we are going to do it celebrate our birthdays (still too fresh out to celebrate holidays), but there is no way for them to know. Even if they DF us....most of my family are shunning me anyways.
Phizzy: I will take a picture when it's done and show everyone. I'm hoping to have it done in a few weeks.
Mind blown: See above comment...I'm not worried about the elders at this point! It's not like they have care for us in the last 6 years anyway. If you are curious see comment below.
Captain Obvious: Brother of the Hawk is my dad, but I think it's my mom using his account because I know dad is at work :) Anyways I just want to add that for myself I have suffered with a health problem for about 5 years that I can't really go to meetings because all the chemicals will make me sick, so I missed a lot of meetings. Since my husband and I got married 2 years ago, the health problem has gotten worse and as of 5 months ago when I went to my last meeting I got so sick I almost blacked out and I ended up sick for a week straight.....so I think the biggest reason why my husband and I came out is because we weren't regular in meetings and service to begin with. Since I got sick I could see how there was no love and the elders didn't care at all. Since my husband and I got married we have had no shep calls at all. No encouragement, not even our so-called friends calling to check on us...we have gotten diddly squat. It really didn't take much for us to come out because we were already on the edge anyways. It's funny because not to long ago my husband confessed to me, he always hated meetings and service. I of course did too and looked for any excuse NOT to go to meetings or service....this gave me the ultimate excuse.
I hope that answers your question. I guess it was somewhat easy because we were already one foot out the door anyways.
