Ah, a thinking English soccer hooligan. Just joking, Englishman. Always enjoy your thought provoking posts, true life experiences and interesting suppositions like this latest one.
So how can believing in something for so many years only to find out it was wrong NOT have a permanently disabling effect on one's life? But maybe if we genuinely free ourselves from the WTBS false realities and then accept each other for who we are now - out amongst the walking wounded - surely we can go forward and make the most of what we've got left; time and circumstances permitting.
Yes, I still blame the WTBS for ruining my life, but I don't hold them responsible. I joined them, they didn't join me.
As for your question about forgiving others. What's to say that a lot of the emotional abuse we have all suffered from Witnesses in one way or another would still not have happened anyway if we hadn't been hooked up with this religion? When push comes to shove, I believe people tend to react in a predictable way regardless of who they are, which way they worship or what they believe in.
My own theory for a better future for mankind now would be to wrest control of globalisation out of the hands of the corporations so the world can be a better place in our lifetime.
