as jehovah's witnesses we swallowed the narrow adventist line and the regular brain numbing sessions never allowed free headspace to think critically about what this bible story is really saying.
recently i got into a discussion with a neighbour about the curse of cain (neville said he always asked bible toting door knockers where cain got his wife from .. easy .. the land of noddy ;).

i was thinking of how it might be possible to put together a theatre company from ex witnesses that through dance and choreographed movement in creative theatre performance might teach something of the issues at hand here, that individually we are all dealing with.
any script writers in the house, for me to talk with?

if jehovah could see the hate building in cain so clearly, mightn't he have taken a second to mention it to someone BESIDES cain? abel perhaps?

you're worrying me on another front too .. wake up man .. you gotta stand back and look at the bible stories as myth and legend not historical fact .. i mean what if we went back and started cleaniing up other ancient myths .. i mean one of the gods could have warned Archane not to smartmouth Zeus and you'd surely think one of the gods could have told Gilgamesh to stay home that year and what about poor old Goliath no God told him to watch out for Davids superiour weapons technology.

Seventh Day Adventist Funeral
by Judith ini attended a seventh day adventist funeral today.
she was a really nice person that i had worked with some years ago.
she was kind to everyone, never a bad word about anyone, always willing to help, and didn't toss her religion down your throat.

Yes, as wannahelp says .. the International Bible Students drank from the same well spring as most of the other mid ninteenth century American Adventists. I sometimes wonder about Pensylvania water. Still, it may have been better if they'd bottled and shipped that around the world rather than the religious tracts that cost so many of us years of slavery and heartache.
These fools started out with the lie that 'the end of the world' would come in 1844 and built lie upon unscholarly lie from there. Jehovahs Witnesses is a religion for wishful thinkers (if you can call following someone elses dream thinking and if you can call wishing for the anihilation of most of the worlds population healthy)

Yes Cains carrots were limp and his lettuce wilting by the time Jehovah got 'em .. that's what the story is all about (sounds perfectly watchtower to me ;)

fair enough englishman, i'll give it a go, but the last time i showed a jw my balls she tried to take 'em as a trophy.
actually you have provoked some thought in me and a resolve to go full apostate tilt next time the 'truth' raises its ugly head in my presence .. why not all my family know i'm rabid apostate .. that's a much better label than the 'weak in the truth' one i hid behind for so long.
