With all do respect, choosing religion is not like choosing ice cream flavors. What you prefer has no basis on what is true or not. Let's say I want to kill a bunch of Americans. I can choose this radical sect of Islam to justify my desires and still go to heaven.

Stevie, I will attempt to answer your questions.
First of all, the 'other' sheep Jesus is referring to in that passage is gentiles. (He came for the lost sheep of Israel, but they rejected him so he invited those to the banquet who were not originally invited)
Secondly, being a child of God does not depend on religious affiliation, how kind you are to the poor, or if you have achieved a certain level of good works. The basis of salvation is Christ and Christ alone. We are all guilty before God because of our sin but Christ has purchased us with His blood, those who follow Him. 4 years ago I cried out to God to save me and He did. I turned from my life of sin to follow the Savior and He took away my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh. I live to serve and to please God and it is what I live for. Not in a religious 'works' type thing, but rather He has made His desires, my desires. I have been born again as the Bible speaks of. The body of Christ is an invisible union that people all over the world have with Christ, doing the will of God all over the earth. Not some legalistic Pharasaical organization based on 'towing the line'

Tattoogirl, the books I shared with him were > Studies in the Scriptures (where CT Russell explains using pyramidology how he came to the date 1914) Then I showed him how in 1956 the WT magazine said that people who are involved with pyramids are from false religion. Then I showed him the book by the WT called Revelation (which commends CT Russell for uncovering the date 1914....<where he used these pyramids>) Then a book called Enemies where Rutherford says that if you don't believe in the date 1918 you are against God. Then he started to run.
But yes, the lies are in every book.

It makes me think of comparing it to a simple math analogy. 2+2 = 4. We know that is true. Now, if someone were to come to me and say "I have some information that goes against your 2+2 belief's. Would you care to look at them?" I would not run in the other direction because I am so convinced it is the truth, why not look at it? Thus it is with the WT. It shows that they are not clinging to the Solid Rock (Christ) but rather a slippery slope.

I asked him what he thought of religions that didn't allow their members to read other religious literature and he told me that although he would not take something home with him from another religion, he would sit with someone and read it, and discuss it. I asked him if the love that witnesses have for each other is unconditional, and not just based on doctrinal belief's and he said, 'no it's unconditional' (yea right!) .I also asked him how he knew the WT was the truth, if he had studied the Bible prior to studying with the WT (he said no) and a variety of other questions. After each question, he would take about 5-10 minutes explaining things from the Bible and I started to feel bad because he really thought I was interested in the Society when I was about to pounce all over it with their own literature full of false prpophecies (gracefully and respectfully of course). I gave him my testimony about how God had saved me from my sins through Jesus Christ, and that God had put a burden on my heart for people trapped in 'works righteousness' type religions. I went on to explain that the WT has done some things that he probably was not aware of, since he had only been in it a year, and that they had made false prophecies and such. He tried to explain them away and I asked him if we could look at some. I pulled out some books from the WT and he said "I don't want to look at your literature' (keep in mind his earlier comments about how he would sit with someone....). I exlained that these were all published by the WT and I could tell he was getting upset. As I started to read the first few prophecies he was gathering his things! THESE ARE FROM HIS OWN TEACHERS!!! How can you run if you are in the truth!! Long story short, I realized I had about 5 minutes before this guy ran and I tried to fit in as much as I could. I was amazed at how poor his answers were regarding false prophecies. Anyway, it was discouraginig to me becasue I feel that God has called me to expose them, but I really don't enjoy doing it at all. I get extremely irritated when people claim to be in the truth, yet run when it is examined.

from the traffic i am receiveng from my website many xjws are tryiing to seek a relationship with jehovah and jesus, but don't belive the wt has the truth on what the bible teaches.. i have a club on yahoo for such xjws who exist.
it is called christian ex-jehovah's witnesses.
