today is my birthday, born in 1936. that makes me 66. i can hardly beleive it.
i'm still in good health but know it's just a short run until something does me in.
i'm really thankful for the great life i've enjoyed, no real problems that i consider serious.

I agree, I think a person coming into a new country should learn the native language. It's getting harder to find work here in the US if you can't speak spanish. They are taking over the US. Two of my neighboors are spanish, with about three or four families in each house. In a decade or two there will be more spanish speaking people here than english. This globalization of the economy I think will bring the standard of living down for the advanced countries and not do much for the third world countries.

I still want to believe in God but I am just afraid that if I accept the stuff in the bible he might be offended and I would be worse off than an atheist. I sometimes thank him for things but other times ask why all the bad stuff that could in now way be attributed to sin.
I'm still lost in all the unanswerable questions.

You freed me to use my conscience to decide my faith. After reading it I let my D'fd brother read it also. He said it freed him to pray again, he had felt so guilty for sticking by his wife when she decorated the house for Christmas and they D'fd her and him for this.

Thanks for your concern and comments. When I first went up to the hospital she was just laying there, and would look at you, then close her eyes again. I had to pick up my daughter's kids from school and and a few other erands. When I went back Emily was up and
grinning at me when I went in her room. She had her I-V in her arm but was up and playing with her grandma(my wife).
It made me feel so much better. Hope she continues her progress and I can play with her like usual.

My step-daughter's(Emily's mother)uncle is dying in the same hospital. Such a bad day, I hate days like this.

What are you saying, that the preflood world was an advanced scientific society? Why didn't the bible mention this, since Noah and his sons would have known all about it? If the people who lived nearer the creation were more perfect, then mankind today should be the dumbest generation yet. Nothing in your argument matches the evidence.

this morning my phone rang, it was my daughter, she had to go out of town and asked if i could pick up her kids from school and keep them until she got back this evening.
i said sure, don't mind at all.. the phone rang again, my renter called and said the washer hose busted last night, so i said i would fix it today.. then my wife was washing clothes and the water was running out in the floor.
the sewer line had stopped up.

This morning my phone rang, it was my daughter, she had to go out of town and asked if I could pick up her kids from school and keep them until she got back this evening. I said sure, don't mind at all.
The phone rang again, my renter called and said the washer hose busted last night, so I said I would fix it today.
Then my wife was washing clothes and the water was running out in the floor. The sewer line had stopped up. This was all before 10 o'clock.
Strangly I didn't feel bad at all about all this work to do. I'm retired and usually just flit around all day, except for a few small chores I do. I really didn't mind having something I had to do.
I got it all done in about 2 hours, except pick up the grandkids and I have an hour to kill before I leave for that chore. Life can be fun if you have the attitude for it.
A friend just called and said she knew of a job my wife might like. Things are looking up now.

my daughter was born at 9:05am tuesday morning.
she's a skinny little thing, 7 pounds 5 ounces, with a shock of black hair, her father's chin, her mother's eyes, and a fetish for sucking on fingertips that neither of us recognize in ourselves.
i'll post pictures when i have them up somewhere ... meanwhile, foxy and i are trying to catch as much sleep as possible, which is precious little sleep at all.
