  Celebrity Look-alikes on JWD

  when i was a jw kid, one of the ways we amused ourselves at assemblies, conventions, and the local kh was to play "spot the celebrity".

  fortunately for us, the joyful throngs of jehovah's people were brimming with celebrity look-alikes, so we were able to enjoy many upbuilding sessions of "spot the celebrity".

  here are some celebrities i have spotted on jwd.

  come on forum brothers and sisters this site goes round and around in circles, there's only so many times you can talk about "your worst meeting" "kingdom melodies i hate that i can replace rude words too" "bill bowen is worse/better than ray" " the circa 1949 wt says...." "i'm outta the borg(tm)" "your favourite witness?.....i hated them all" and my favourite..."hello newbie, you're amongst friends here, we look forward to your posts", but don't you dare, ever ever step out of line and not tow the ex line here, after all we're the enlightened ones now and we'll trash you without any understanding/concern"........this site has become a cult in itself, agreement at the kh is called brainwashing, agreement here is applauded, unless you disagree (no dissention in the ranks allowed) and on and on...........quit the judgement of others you say you struggled hard to escape from and hated, we're all humans looking at the end of the day for answers.

  Hi Scooby,

  That was a pretty good description of this place. It's like any group of people who have some common experiences, they enjoy sharing, but there will be all types of personalities who at times conflict with others. The overall attitude is good and it helps to cope with the disappointments we have experienced with the JW faith that has in many instances controlled most of our life. Yes, sometimes it's just petty stuff, but at other times it gives comfort and a feeling of friendship. There is also information posted that we would never have known and that has effected our lives in the borg.

  Sometimes I feel a little fed up with the postings but I always come back the next day and find something that I enjoy. There are many fine people who post here that I would never have met any other way, so thanks Simon for this site, I really appreciate your effort.

  Did anyone really ever study?

  i know we were taught to study all the wts stuff.

  prepare for each meeting, prepare for service, (gotta know the articles) etc.

  i mean with all the personal study to do, how could anyone have time for newspapers, novels etc.

  I had to study all my free time, I was the WT study conductor, mininstry school servant, book study conductor, and PO all at the same time. I also had to have a part on the SM every week and assign all the other ones out. I had to give the memorial talk, and give many of the Sunday talks locally and out of town about once every month or two. That's why I moved away and quit, it was just too much and when I moved back I wasn't about to go back again.

  i got this in my email today from my zealot jw aunt.

  this is the first time she has ever sent me anything of this nature.

  she is completely aware than i am not a jw and that i celebrate holidays.

  I don't celebrate it, other than give candy to the kids that come by trick or treating. Sometimes the kids will have a pumpkin or the like on my poarch, I don't mind. I'm just not much of a celebrator of holidays. I noticed my brother had a plastic pumpkin with a light in it in his front yard, mainly to agravate the JWs I think. If you like to celebrate it have fun!

  US Second Amendment v UK Social Contract.

  the us second amendment states:.

  a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

  i wonder if the writers af this amendment actually envisaged a situation where 260 million americans would have something like over 200 million firearms spread amongst them?

  It seems God didn't do too good with his creation. The spirit creatures didn't listen to him too well and soon as he made the first human he listened to a serpant(even animals took part in rebelion and God made the serpant crawl and eat dust). Either he wanted it that way or he didn't know the end from the beginning, or the bible is a bunch of crap. I go with the last part.

  My son-in-law and grandson will be painting a bridge in that area soon. It scares me that they will be out in the open and easy prey for this maniac.

  What is the truth?

  we spent so much time going on about "the truth" as witnesses , we thought we had the universe all sorted out .all those pillars of truth have now crumbled to dust.so what is "the truth"?.

  that is , what is the correct understanding of life the universe and everything?.

  how did the universe get here?what is conciousness and how does it work?is there a why or just a how?.

  I've figured it out. The purpose of life is life itself. What is the strongest motivation in all living things?

  To create more life. The sexual drive sustains life in animals, humans, insects and every other living thing on earth. So we must live it while it's still ours.
