a bit about myself.. i am 46 yrs olds old, live in chicago area.
i am a dis-fellowshipped jw.
i was in the organization since i was a kid.
Your history sounds like mine, married 16 years without children, elder for 10 years, divorced from first JW wife, Df'ed brother. I was never Df'ed, just faded away.
My life now is great, married to a great worldly woman for 33 years, have children, a Df'ed brother that I love to be with several times a week. Getting old now but still going strong.

i'm not sure if this is old news to you guys but i just heard that the wts is now giving 30mins public talks instead of 45mins public talks.
this new arrangement is starting on jan 2008. i think the wts has seen that the r&f has had enought of all these meetings and is trying to wind them down without it looking like they are giving in.

I'm just about there now. The more I see nature the more I doubt a supreme God making it the way it is. Things like fleas, mosquitoes, parasites, viruses etc. DNA to kill everything alive. Doesn't seem like a God would do that.

Back 35 years ago they were 1 hour talks, when did they go to 45 min.?

The real question is not wheither some one could be called God but if there is a God. What evidence do we have that God exist except in the minds of other humans? What has Christ or God done that can be proven to be by some spirit power since man has been living, except by some written text of a religious person? As I read the greek scriptures Jesus said he would come back before some of the ones alive died. Of course the bible has to be explained by some religious expert to mean something other than what it really said, and we must have faith in some future event that is a fantasy.
I'm tired of trying to understand this bunch of writtings that were put together as a bible and said to be inspired by an unproven God by a bunch of men who were actually evil in their motives.

the whole of my life in the troof was spent looking forward to the end of this wicked system.
over 30 years of waiting for jehovah to sort out the ills of mankind.
I've lived over half my life as a JW, had many good times there but got fed up with all the responsibilities and just faded out and got a good life and have enjoyed it for the last 30 years. I can't look very far forward, not much time left, so I just try to enjoy the present but the kids and grandkids are crashing it right now with all their problems. My paternal daughter and her husband are doing great right now.
I'm looking for something to look at that will bring some peace, whether forwards, backwards or sideways.

I was about 8 years old and called on this home and read about the only scripture I knew at the time, Ps. 83.18. The folks there started talking about hell fire and read some scripture to me that I couldn't debate. I went back to the car crying. They were the parents of 4 kids I went to school with. One of the boys picked on me in school some years later and we had a fight, the only fight I ever had. I guess they know if they were right now, about hell, they are all dead.

if we cut out all the crap, the jehovah's witness religion kills people through their 'blood' policy.
people die from following it.. therefore i am ashamed to say that i was part of it for so long.
i used to say, as many who are still in still do, that it's not a bad way of life.. yes it is.
Don't be too mad, they may have saved some lives too. Aids has been spread by blood transfusions as well as other diseases. Two people in my family were killed by blood transfusions. Don't get too angry. It works both ways sometimes.
