Dodgy comment in WT 99 5/1

for any readers of e-watchman's articles, especially his article on 'we have concluded a covenant with death', please note this comment from this 1999 watchtower article:.

"23 we must be certain that our refuge continues to be jehovah and his mountainlike organization.

(2 samuel 22:2, 3; psalm 18:2; daniel 2:35, 44) that is where we will find protection!

Dodgy e-watchman too. This person spews out as much rubbish as the WTS does, evades difficult questions, edits questions he does publish on his website so that they (the original question) asks a question not asked which he then answers, takes out salient points like the early history and other 'unpalatable' items that prove the WTS is not inspired and never was, chides the questioner and rambles on and on impressing only himself and the gullible with much verbage and wallows in self-agrandisment with questions like 'save me e-watchman you are the troof what shall I doooooo'.

Talk about self delusion.

But that is only my opinion.

Jourles's dirtclod.com address is really good, you should check it out if you have not done so. It also conatins all the TV progs that were done re-Child abuse - Panorama, Fifth element channel 9 etc. I have burned them all to disk - saves all that buffering and stuttering. Also, all the books mentioned in the correspondance above are available including the info pack in child custody cases - interesting read. You can open each book in pdf and then save to hardisk, all colours and illustrations etc.. I used broadband so didn't take long. In case you are wondering, no, it is not my site.

It is the way that the language is used at meetings. Coercive words like 'loyal' as in 'Loyal ones don't question the F&DS'. No one wants to be thought of as disloyal, especially if you back it up with examples from the past and tie it in with the comment, e.g. 'Loyal ones won't have the same fate as Korah who showed a rebellious stubborn shoulder to Jehovah, not wanting to march shoulder to shoulder with Jehovahs loyal people!'. Great use is made of labelling, despite the Awake! article on not doing it. Example from the press was a shopkeeper did not give a reduction and was termed 'Skinflint Shopkeeper Joe Bloggs......', whereas another person might get 'caring Fergy.....'. Without knowing these people we have had our opinions formed about them by clever use of words. Hence 'Jehovah Himself has prepared this banquet....' so the 'loyal' witness is conditioned and no doubt feels guilty if he or she finds the banquet not quite to their liking, not that they can say so because they are 'Loyal' and so they pray to God to be a better person and to help remove all 'Dis-loyal' thoughts. Mind control par-exellance.

I had another look at the paragraph as I was writing from memory, it was 'Jehovah Himself has prepared this Spiritual Banquet. Come. Eat!' I always remember as a child being at the assemblies hearing about this 'Banquet! that is laid before us brothers' I used to think 'Well, where is this banquet (stomach going 'rumble rumble') I can't see any food and will there be enough for me? (rumble rumble)' In fact it is doing that now as it is nearly lunchtime here in good old Blighty.

New Releases - What is there left to write about?

hi everyone, and thanks to all for your comments in my recent posts.

i can't always get round to logging on, but do appreciate your feedback.. now for a question - what is there left to write about?

i mean, isn't printing 24,000,000 awakes and watchtowers enough?

Don;t forget truthseeker that most JWs have more than one copy. Iused to ahev a big pile of mags leftover.

Work it out 25 million less 6million = 19 million.

Each JW has at least 2 copies = 12 mill - 25 mill =13 mill

Then the families - one each for studies and the personal copy not doodled in, say 18 mil, that leaves about 7 mil for 6.2+ Billion people.

ASnd don't forget the huge pile at the KH that the mag servant tries to foist off on you when you get your supply - I used to have 14 WT and 10 Awakes and had piles of them left.

So revise the figure again and I reckon at about 1 mil gets trudged around the doors

Now that is what I call a world wide work. You are right a real famine.

And then there is the books, about 5 mil run readily gobbled up by 'loyal' JW.

In reality, the WWWork is in their heads. They are told it exists and so it does, to them.

not too long ago one of you posted that bethel asked for 1000 volunteers to be laid off, but only 6 repsonded.

hi everyone, in the congregation i grew up in, it was very cold and unloving.

circuit overseers would come and go, they would give counsel and nothing changed.

at one time even the do came at the same time as the co and gave counsel to 'widen out'.

Someone (I forget who) mentioned Margate. Ahhh good old Margate. Anyone remember Ron Bond, we used to call him Mogadon because his talks were always delivered in a monotone and boy, were they d u l l. In fasct they were duller than a dull thing with a degree in dullness from oxford university. Then there was Gordon Barber who used to do the WT study and always go overtime - eeee by gum lad arm foam yerkshire aye earm a yerkshiore laaad aye appen, whippits and blaarck poodin eeee, I'll go t' foot ov R stayers.

I used to pass the time at meetings seeing how long I could hold my breath - 2 mins - It is difficult trying to gasp for air, all red faced in the hall of oldens. When that earned the usual thwack around the ear then I would hold the pipe of the radiators and see how long I could do that (when they were hot, that is). Ahhh those were the days.

Camber was great. Everyone headed for the snooker room or the beach, great fun.

Haysbridge, hard seats red decor and the feeling someone was pouring cold air down your neck if you sat in the middle bit. I mostly thought about lunch especially during the baptism, it went on for ages and all I could think about were my sarniesmmmmmmmm sarnies.

I had a beard so was used as a scrubbing brush, but I was allowed to hand out maggies and bookies but not to be an (oooohh!) attendant, I was asked by accident to read the WT one day by someone who was not clued up on the 'Don't ask beared ones (rebellious you know) to do anything 'real'' which amused me, so I did tee hee. I also bobbed up and down during the meeting (no not with excitement nor anything else - go and wash your mouths out with soap -) but because I was the (ooooooh! (stop that!) platform mike lowerer and higherer geeko 'Lower please brother, no, no I have a mid card here higher higher points mean prizes, nice to see you to see you nice whose for a brucie bonus then my love'
