  We only know what we are taught Master. When it came to my judicial they didn't have any facts collected but went a head and just df'd me. Others have had the same similar treatment. So excuse me as to how we express our viewpoints on Tony and how the whole entire world might view this as well.

  In pioneer school there was a part about how we might portray ourselves to the world when not in service and the CO gave an example how a guy might come home everyday from work and have a cold beer on his porch to unwind. He said the poor guy just wanted to relax but to onlookers it looked like he was an alcoholic because of that one beer everyday sitting out on his porch. Then we were told to carefully watch how we hold ourselves when not in service because we are being watched especially if people know we are jw's. If Tony wants to be on tv then Tony needs to watch how he portrays himself at all times to the entire world!

  Holy Spirit - Present or Gone in the Congregations?

  i was doing some reminiscing and remember the days back in the late 80s and early 90s where i truly could say the meetings were so encouraging and that i felt the holy spirit present and operating on all of us.

  today when i attend, there is nothing of the sort.

  is it because jehovah has withheld it?

  Go back to the bible times where god always would withdraw his spirit and would let wickedness prevail like Solomon for example.

  At the beginning of his reign, Solomon loved the God of Israel and covenanted with God that he would walk in obedience throughout his administration as king of Israel. Solomon was promised wisdom, riches, honor, and long life if he would continue in righteousness before the Lord. The promise was fulfilled. During his life, Solomon became famous for his wisdom. Great men and women from many nations came to hear him and test his understanding and knowledge. Solomon also acquired great wealth, and there were said to be no kings in all the earth who could compare to him. Under Solomon’s reign Israel reached her greatest point as a nation—honor, wealth, power, and respect were hers because of the administration of her greatest king.

  Nevertheless, at the end of Solomon’s reign, ( 1 Kings chapter 11) Israel became temporally and spiritually bankrupt. Deterioration and strife were everywhere. Within a year of Solomon’s death, the land was divided into two kingdoms, and the course of Israel’s history was permanently altered.

  Hence draw close to god and he will draw close to you, so that's what I always use to hear. So no gods spirit was never on the jw's. They even admit the are not inspired with holy spirit. How can there even be holy spirit where they deny having it? Plus look at all the wrongful dealings that go on in each and every congregation and nothing is ever done. All I would ever hear is wait on Jehovah and he will clean it up in his due time. No, he withdraws his spirit and never does clean it up.

  It wouldn't matter if it were booze or almost a thousand dollars worth of candy, when they are constantly begging for money in the name of their god and they do this then there's a problem. It's how they are spending the money that isn't theirs that pisses me off. We just had an elderly couple who gave up everything for this cult come and view our farm house that we are renting out and they too gave their everything and have absolutely nothing yet they still love their cult and invited us to their meetings.

  This needs to posted for all lurkers to see. Better than reading drivel that has nothing to do with trying to get jw's out of their cult.

  Funeral Fashion

  i have a funeral to attend for a non jw family member and the jdub family member reminded me that i should not wear black.

  for the life of me, i can't recall where this belief came from in jw teachings and i'm born in.

  is there something in print or is that just a personal opinion belief?

  Blondie, we had gone to a mennonite new order (white bonnets and flower dresses) funeral and I was wearing a red suede jacket and matching skirt. I was surprised to hear from one of our mennonite employees that the one mennonite woman was telling others how dare I show up at the funeral in devils color. After that when we would go door to door I had no idea that none of them have the color red on them or in their homes. My argument to one of them was if it's the devils color then why did god create cardinals and other beautiful colored birds. No reply. I guess the joho's are no different with their superstitions, lol.

  my wife just visited her parents who are jws and her dad who knows nothing about it said it was a gateway drug.

  he may have heard it on the news but i doubt it.

  apparently, some people never bother to read the posting guidelines.

  there are lots of helpful things in there about what to post and what not to post which explain why posts may occasionally be removed and how to complain if you think we've made a wrong decision.. the typical reasons are they they are either harassing someone over a difference of opinion (play the ball, not the person) or are simply off topic.

  a rose may be beautiful but if it's in a wheat field, it's still a weed.

  (before you read anything i was born into this religion and am just counting down the days until i can leave) so i made one other post before because i signed up thinking that this was just a one time venting thing for me and everyone that replied on my last post was super helpful and i thank you if you’re reading this one but shit.

  i’ve never released this much emotion especially to strangers, not even with my own parents and with you guys i feel like i can say anything about how i feel and it’s all good because you all feel the same as i do.

  but anyway i just got into some shit with my mom and step dad.
