My parents died from the corona virus
by Hotpepper inboth my 84 yr old jw father and my never my jw mother 82 with both together died from the the corona in 24 hours of each other.
i can tell many fighting i have had here in the last 20 years.on this site .
i juy hope they rest in peace.

My Mom died last week.
by Still Totally ADD inlast wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.
she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.
her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.

We are truly sorry for your loss Still Totally ADD. Doesn't matter how old or what shape they were in it still hurts. Your never prepared for that feeling of never seeing them again. When my mother had died there was a flood of emotions that still haunt me today. So many questions I wished I could have asked like why? Why didn't she leave when her very own relatives out west wanted to take her back and they would have helped her with the kids. I never met any of mom's relatives or the old man's since none of them were jws.
You carry this loneliness with you for the rest of your life when they are gone or from the time you left the cult. Worse than self isolation. Someone asked me the other day how I was dealing with it and I had to be honest and say I don't know any difference in my life before the covid or after. No family. No friends. Just acquaintances.
I hope you are not alone and have someone with you. Again, sorry that your mother passed away.

How service is being conducted with the zoom meetings
by newsheep ina friend of ours who is married to a jw said that this morning for service everyone who was on zoom got to do a call while the rest listened in on the call.
there were thirty-one this morning listening in on one who would call someone to preach to.
shouldn't the person they are calling on be warned first that there will be so many listening in on their phone call from the zoom meeting.

Shouldn't the person they are calling on be warned first that there will be so many listening in on their phone call from the zoom meeting. Her husband couldn't believe it. He said at one time only two could go to the doors and now you can have a congregation listen to the jw and householder talk.Once they hang up then the next person does a phone call.

Midweek Meeting looooooooong prayers.
by Davros inone thing that aggravates me is long concluding prayers, especially at the midweek meeting.
you work all day, rush home, grab a quick bite, dress up in meeting clothes.
then, go to the meeting.

and we pray all this through your son Jesus and his faithful and discreet slave, Amen. No lie this is how Dion in Elmira would finish his ten minute recap of the midweek meeting prayer. I opened my eyes and thought WTH? He also prays through the FDS as well? Nope I'm done!!!
