Interesting thing about Rutherford being an alcoholic. I've never seen that denied in any chat room discussion nor heard any witness deny it when it has been mentioned. They'll jump to the WT's defense so fast usually too.

The WTB&TS is A Rare and a Snacket
by Francois inthe message is in the title.. but it is true.
cults do not use the vast amounts of money they have their rank and file produce for them to do good works in society, for their members, or for any other societally acceptable reason.
more than any other religion in "christendom" the cult, cult, of jehovah's witnesses is a rare and a snacket, or if you wish, a snare and a racket.

That seems to be a standard answer. Must've been "suggested" in an old WT at some distant point.
My mom says "My brain NEEDED a good washing." I think it's about time for the dry cycle though. -

someone already did the pizza reference dammit!
how about "Occupied"
when we was bricklayering, my brother wrote a song about the trade and it included this line:
...and when I die don't burry me at all, just throw me in the mixer and spread me in the wall...well I thought it was funny anyway.

If Time were running in reverse would we know it?
by D wiltshire inif "time" is running backwards i dont see how that we would ever know, perhaps some clever physicist could devise an experiment to find out for sure.. some theoreticians have suggested the reason the arrow of time runs from past to future is tied intimately to the expansion of space.
since einstein special theory of relativity we have come to see that "time", space and speed are all relative.
we now more correctly speak of "space-time" instead of just space.

Much ado about nothing. If I see the hands on my clocks going "counter clockwise" then I'll know time is running in reverse. Simple explanation is always the best.

New here...(my story and a request for help)
by stephaniesays ini was raised in the organization.
my stepfather was a ministerial servant but was removed when i was 14, due to family problems, which he blamed on me (he was abusive, physically, and was told that if he cannot control his family, he could not be an example to the congregation).
i became pregnant at 15 and have not really lived around my family since then.

Welcome to the board Stephanie (could it be? yet ANOTHER texas apostate?)
The 607 topic is a deep debate. The trouble with trying to pin them down on dates is that they will shift and end up saying it really doesn't matter anyway...they are STILL god's chosen group. Some arguments just get nowhere.
Crisis of Conscience is a great place to start reading. Was for many of us at least! Right now I'm reading Franz's second book "In Search of Christian Freedom". It's a good one too.
Best of luck to you Stephanie, glad you found this place!
