I love having a glass or two of wine. Normally having a third is a rarity... then it will tip me over the edge into being sleepy, but, I don't drink anymore than that usually, I just get tired.
drink what you want Julia, just don't drive!
...drink a lot?
gosh i love wine.
i like a good bottle of wine each night, and i have a high tolerance to alcohol, though i never drank much (except for a couple of times with the vodka, but i don't keep that stuff in the house anymore, way too dangerous) as a jw because getting slightly happy is a 'sin'.

we had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.
Hey Winston & Mrs Smith. Good to catch up on your story. I love your summary of the child abuse issue. It's something that none of us can ignore, that the so called "gods organisation on earth" could act so appallingly.....when anyone with an ounce of common sense would protect their children, protect the most vulnerable.
Hope things go well for you with your Mum & sister...
enjoying your new home?
i was told by a family member the other day "if you want to leave jehovah, go ahead.
but don't think you'll ever be happy.
all the people i know who have left got burned by the world and they come back to the truth".
I'm pretty happy in my life.
Sometimes I find it easier to be pessimistic about things (I think a lot of JW would have this ingrained), I think it's a habit.
but I'm happy to be in this world, and be a part of it...not just waiting for it all to end in Armageddon. It's a good feeling to know, this life, this is it, deal with it.
We are happy or unhappy BUT I think a lot of JW don't know just how unhappy they are. I know I have only realised how unhappy I was as a JW years after as I gained perspective on my experiences. And when I see how my kids live, the contrast between my life at their age and how they are now is shocking to me sometimes. No wonder I was unhappy.
*first* - a clarification that needs to be made.
this is not about all women.
i am not against cosmetic surgery.
Have we finally discussed a topic on this forum where the society doesn't have an opinion?
They stick their noses into everything, marriages, sex, child rearing, education, careers (lack of!) I'm surprised there hasn't been articles about this?
still, where I was a lot of brothers were really negative about makeup, their wives & daughters were not allowed to wear any (or if they did - very discretely)
kind of funny when the magazines at the time featured Americans with that really heavy cake face makeup & big hair. You could tell they really wanted to criticise it, but had to suck it up because it was from the organisation. Hahaha.
I can't even imagine any of the sisters where I was getting cosmetic surgery. Many didn't even shave under their arms or their legs - I don't know why, I used to think it was appalling!
awake!
"if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things.
because all the evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years... therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.
That article ruined most of my life, or my youth anyway.
That article was thrown at me a million times, to explain why I wasn't allowed to have friends, go to uni, care about a career. Everything I wanted to do with my life was stopped by that ridiculous statement.
What a pile of sh*t
lived there for 10 years till 2005 nothing....now every night a drive by shooting up a house.
what happened sydney!
we feel like te us now..
Sadly Sydney has become a city with a lot of areas you just don't go to. It's like 2 different worlds co exist side by side.
I don't care, about gang wars with bikies/lebs - as long as they keep it away from the rest of us :)
ever notice how completely out of touch some (most?
) public speakers are?.
last week we had a speaker ramble on for fully 1/3, maybe 1/2, of his 30 minute talk on the evils of "rap music".. i don't believe the term "rap music" has been uttered by anyone under the age of 40 for at least 20-25 years.. this week we got another "older gentleman" warning us about the pervasive dangers of "internet chat rooms".. again - didn't "chat rooms" die out about the same time as dialing up to connect to aol?.
Hahaha...."heavy petting" I forgot that was a thing. This would have to be the creepiest phrase ever uttered.

New house, one step further away from your past & towards a better future, away from the WTBTS.
Glad to hear you & the Mrs are doing well.
i have been to frejus, cannes, st. tropez and san rafael (maybe the most beautiful city in the world - no wait that would be cannes, or san tropez).
i traveled the coastal highway one day from s. of hyeres to monte carlo.
breathtaking.
Yes, I've been on that road. The French Riviera was far more beautiful than I thought it would be.
I think Coastline of Santorini is right up there also. :)
there are many silly doctines and viewpoints.. one of the strangest ones is the blood doctrine.. why anyone could logically accept this belief is beyond reason..
How about priding themselves on no infant baptism, whilst baptising children. Children, who have had no opportunity to question, or examine what they have been told by their parents.
Then, if they change their minds, never speak to them again!
