on number 3: Need to ask permission for major decisions, I may be wrong about this, I'm not sure ...correct me if I am. But in other threads it has been discussed that when parents have uncovered child abuse, they have gone to the elders first, rather than to the police.
Are they going to the elders to ask them if its OK to involve the police? Do the elders give permission or not? I don't know?

after today's watchtower study which was basically a mind controlling article about shunning your loved disfellowshipped ones, i've come to see just how sick, twisted, vile, rotten, repulsive, disgusting, and just plain evil you all are.

Typical JW choice.... Either THIS way, or you are choosing to DIE in Armageddon. If you are a kid, hate what is bad (whatever they tell you it is), or YOU MAKE JEHOVAH SAD....oh yeah, you'll DIE in ARMAGEDDON!
Everything becomes bigger than it should be, every choice magnified and scrutinised.

This is a great way to conduct yourself, you will look back on this one day & feel proud.
you have exited on your own terms, its not how they (the JW) define someone who is DF/DA. In the JW world people are either in, or out, and those who are out can be branded with some label, either apostacy, or immorality or something of this kind. The JW mind does not accept that someone just leaves/doesn't believe.
Their "love" is conditional on you being a JW, so it's ultimately not good enough, you do deserve better.

well it was a very long discussion.
the elder knew nothing about the scandal, but he stated that he had no issue with it since when the case was brought to light, the society acted immediately to right their course.
in fact he thought it was a sign that that the organisation was indeed the "truth".
Wow, that picture of the harlot on the beast gave me a weird flashback...that image was so scary to me as a child.
what this discussion confirms to me is this...
the GB & the org are just human, not spirit directed,just crappy men in cheap suits doing stupid things & lying about it. This is so sad & depressing, particularly considering the harsh judgement placed on the rank & file for any misdemeanour.
They did establish this culture, and they can't even live up to it.
I think about those poor brothers in Malawi a lot, how their lives were not worth a signature, but "library access" is?
Aything signed like this would have been seen by many in the org, not just 1 brother making a mistake, c'mon now!
if i had not left the truthtm, right now i would be walking the mall, searching for a modest memorial dress.
probably would get a new pair of panty hose for the occassion (suntan color, of course--those extra thick ones so they don't run after you wear them once), along with a pair of attractive shoes that could still handle a full day of field servicetm.. i'd be hoping to meet a nice brothertm who would be able to pick me out of the crowd because of my spiritual modest attire.tm.
instead, here i am, with my worldly husband, not studying the ragazines, eating pagan easter candy, and watching unwholesome tv shows, in my nice house, after working hard at my job which i got because i attended evil college.
Those pantyhose were practical miss Rebel, you could rinse them out & hang them out to dry in the bathroom overnight.
You can't have the brothers seeing bare legs!
I actually remember trying to stop runs in pantyhose by applying clear nail polish.
im proud to say as an atheist/apostate I have not worn pantyhose for years!

Usual, I'm sorry your lonely, it's tough to feel alone...
ive worked on this in the last year. Find an activity you like, work at it. You'll meet people you have something in common with. Take the next step & organise coffee... When you find someone you click with, make the effort to keep in contact .....it works.
If you are in Sydney I will have coffee with you!
