It seems like the GB has not even bothered to explain what role if any the rest of the anointed have in the organization now that they have been demoted by them. Just sit tight and wait and if you behave and obey us then you'll also be appointed over the belongings (but WE are the FDS, not you).

It seems like taking Russell out of the big picture matches the change in the language coming from the WT now regarding their founder. I remember reading in chapters 1 and 2 of the Proclaimers book that Abel was the first JW, and Jesus was a JW too. But now an FAQ on JW.org says Jesus is the founder of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Also Cedars, it seems that until 1931 there was an editorial committee who was able to exercise some control over what was published in the magazines. Still, as president of the Society, is it correct to say that the ultimate authority on doctrinal matters rested solely with Rutherford? If so, that would make him the FDS.

In the Olin Moyle trial court transcript, page 865, we can read Fred Franz's very own words that in 1931 the committee was disbanded because it was not allowing what were felt to be 'timely and vital truths originating from him to be disseminated to the Lord’s people'. From that point forward, there was nothing even remotely resembling a governing body as we know it today. Doctrine published in the Watchtower came from or was filtered and approved by Rutherford.

Thanks a lot BluesBrother, for the Watchtower quote, I was confused as well. Oh Lord, the whole world counted 14 Nisan to be on Monday 25 March but the GB knew better! They know better than the Jews themselves!

right, so that was hours ago, so i'm waiting for the replyi'll keep you posted.. the elders have been trying to invite me for the memorial, and the email in question basically said.... .

i d like to remind you about the memorial.

it will be held tomorrow, tuesday the 26th at 8:45 pm in our kingdom hall.hope to see you with us remembering the most important day of this year.i replied...hi brother elder,.

Well, not a pip from the elder or anyone else after my email. Good. Well, you may well be right and they may be typing the JC summon letter now. Bring it on, I say. Perhaps I'll record the whole thing and add it to the numerous others already online, haha.

Yes carla, I know a lot of brothers, including elders, who had no clue what they were talking about and if you knew your Watchtower, meaning if you read a lot and remembered a lot of the BS the WT writes you could throw them off balance for their lack of research or unpreparedness...now, is that what Jesus meant with, "I want mercy, not sacrifice." (I don't believe in Jesus as a perfect superhuman son of God anymore, by the way)

The primary thing they have got wrong is the matter of who should partake, of course it should be all who follow Christ,

I agree Phizzy, if I were to follow the bible, a Christian religion, if I still believed it or were even still in as a JW (I'm a fader) I would partake, that is what Jesus clearly said his followers should do.

I really do not believe the exact timing is a salvation issue, or physically partaking. I mean, you should if you can, but what if you were in prison with no access to the emblems? I think you heart condition matters the most. Then partaking is an outward symbol of your faith, like baptism.

Also, I do not believe it is a once a year thing. There is no proof that Christians only celebrated once a year, although the WTBT$ makes that assertion.

I agree DATA-DOG, even in my last years in I believed Jehovah and Jesus were much more merciful than the WT would have us believe, especially since I felt I was blessed when my standing in the congregation was in jeopardy because I didn't take BS from the elders. I believed Jehovah blessed me for doing what was right, not for pleasing men. So yes, if I were trying to please God, I believed he would understand my circumstances as you exemplify if I were in a prison cell and couldn't get emblems or something close to them. And I'm not sure I could 'prove' from the bible why it should be an annual observance. Mind you, in my last months in I couldn't prove a lot of WT doctrines from the bible!

First mention of "new light" may appear in July 15, 2013 Watchtower

a trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.

my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.

Hi! I'm New Here

hi there, as was suggested to me, i'm starting this thread to say hi to everyone.. my awakening began recently, after the new light on the 'slave'.

i felt it didn't add up and went to check and found out ttatt.

for a while i tried to find evidence of whether the wt might still be god's organization, i needn't say i couldn't.. i had already resigned as a ministerial servant and a pioneer, had already had several issues with the elders and did not put up with their nonsense for a long.

In fact, thinking back, our whole life in the jw machine is just a fog. Certain things are highlights or when things went wrong, but on a spiritual level, it was a wilderness full of nothing...and it was only 5 or 6 years ago when we left. Strange, but it feels as if my life is only just starting.

That is so true GoneAwol, a wilderness of nothingness. I like that phrase, I'll use it, if you don't mind. (I promise to send you the royalties, LOL). And with me too some things are highlights of when things went wrong and my life feels like it has just started too.

Thanks, Alec Now, I have to say it was news to me that the Jews actually celebrate the Passover on 15 Nisan. What was surprising was that the WT is saying that today 26 March after sunset will be 14 Nisan. Are they trying to celebrate Passover in the same night as the Jews whilst trying to appear that they are celebrating it on 14 Nisan —the night they say Jesus instituted the Lord's Evening Meal, was betrayed, tried, and executed at 3pm of the next day but still on 14 Nisan?
