This is an interesting article from Scientific American about a study on how prayer helps increase one's self-control through social connection. This adds to previous research on the subject. It's a short article and a worth read.

And so it begins.....

Whoa, well done you!
I've got my Christmas decorations too but have kept a very low profile with my public self (facebook, twitter). But yes, finally, after so many years, the thrill of celebrating my first birthday, being given gifts, and looking forward to getting Christmas gifts as well is amazing!
Now, I spoke briefly with a very good friend of mine who's now fading and asked him, 'has anyone kept in touch with you?' No. I've been out for a year, and he's been out for months. I have reason to believe people think I'm an apostate but they seem afraid to talk to me. Even the elders have left me alone.
So, I'm happy I'm being left alone, but it's just sad that whatever friends I thought I had are just behaving like brainwashed monkeys. I miss some nice, intelligent people who are currently wasting their lives, health, money, and brains pioneering, being elders, etc. But I'm also testing the grip the Borg has on them and observing from a distance should I ever try to make a move.

My (atheist) girlfriend asked what "satan-like" meant. I explained it was in the same category of Watchtower words as "godlike". She then asked me, "but isn't everyone supposed to be 'godlike'?"

Just this simple fact of life is proof of God....
by EndofMysteries ini'll be curious for any alternative plausible explanations for this...... .
every lifeform on earth, humans, plants, bacteria, cells, anything with life originated with other life.
all trees come from living seeds from other trees, etc.

xchange - depends if he is the originator or just a link up the chain.
What does that mean?

Who/what is god's potter?
Exactly.
So God forming these things then putting his life force into it, him being the originator of life for the start of these things, is the only thing that makes sense.
But as the bible says, we are the clay, God(whoever made us) is the potter
Who created God?

If a person clings to false doctrines, such as the Trinity and the immortality of the soul, he cannot benefit from the ransom. But we can.
Sure they can, Jesus isn't even their mediator...

of all things, the post of 'bats in the belfry' re: the supposed break up of gb member geoffrey jackson and his cute (ex-?

Welcome Joe! Enjoy your time here!
You're right, I don't think I knew half of the things you mentioned by the time I faded. Hang in there and watch out for the WT police--the elders! LOL
