some comments in another thread got me thinking about this.. i can't imagine any scenario wherein it would be best to cover over pedophilia.
the needs/feelings of the victim was brought up as a possible reason.
i think the needs of society outweigh the needs of the victim six billion to one, but i also think that this means what is good for society is also exactly what is best for the victim.
The only reason I could see not exposing a pedophile outright would be if that would put the victim at risk of death or further serious injury. Even then I think I would find a discrete means of informing the authorities about the crime and the level of danger involved in regards the victim. Otherwise I say they all need to be locked up and shunned till they go meet Jehovah.

Somewhere in this discussion it might be prudent to add that the use of animal byproducts to grow food has caused serious problems....i.e the mad cows. I wonder how many UK JWs had their hamburgers and steak pies without realizing they were eating animals fed with other animals....so if they don't know will Jehovah forgive them?

What if some of the DNS info Simon collected pointed out that the posters were internal WT people, using WT computers, or from the Catholic dioscese, or any other religious affiliation that didn't like frank talk about touchy subjects? Would it be so bad to expose them? Seeing as we try to expose as much as possible, I think maybe not. Just my thoughts. Besides, smurfs kick troll ass any day!

been wondering about this lately.... what proof (outside the bible, of course) do we have for the "historical jesus"?.
in my earlier days (post jw to "born again christian") i remember reading that the one thing that differentiates christianity vs. "all the others" was that we had secular historical proof that there was a man that was called jesus, who died on a cross and was resurrected.
now i am wondering just what that proof is/was?
Double, and the question is pointed back in your direction. Which ones have come true? Perhaps there is the answer to your question.

i had two boys come to the door selling candy bars.
they rang the bell and then pounded on the door.
i was folding laundry and could not untangle myself quick enough to get to the door before the banging started.
I think all kids can be obnoxious. One place I can't stand is Chukee Cheese Pizza, or the like. Those places makes you realize why its so easy to hate other people's kids. I have young children and they are notorious for pushing the buttons, and acting out in public. I have no qualms abotu giving them a bit of the forehand on the backside if it gets too out of hand, but usually I go for the extended time out in public where they sit in a chair, or the floor if need be, and screech as people watch them act up. They eventually learn to get the gist of things and know what it is to have a few manners. I really think that it all starts with ALL children at the early ages and if bratty, selfish behavior is allowed to be a part of their lives, they are the worse for it. Not to mention we get stuck dealing with them daily. Not cool and way unnecessary.
