I can't come out until the summertime. In the mean time, I have to feign interest like I want to stay so I don't end up homeless.
How do you do it? I can't sit at the meetings without getting visibily irritated. I can't stand service......

i was heading home today, and i saw one woman reading a new world translation.
we made eye contact, but i hope i didn't glare at her or anything... since i was already having a bout with depression today, it didn't help to see her.
so then she gets off the train, right?
Keep reminding yourself why they're so crazy, and you have to not give up...
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/02/06/granddaughter-of-westboro-baptist-church-founder-defects-from-hate-cult-to-speak-out-video/.
a cult has a way of ensnaring its members with promises of spiritual freedom, the seductions of power and charisma, and in some cases, just the sheer influence gained by tapping into the fears, biases and bigotry of potential recruits.
scientology has used those many tools in attracting followers, as has every cult from jim jones with his peoples temple mass suicide tragedy in jonestown, guyana; david koresh and the branch davidians of waco notoriety, warren jeffs of the fundamentalist church of jesus christ of the latter-day saints and its polygamous sexual abuses; right up to the westboro baptist church and their pervasive and media-savvy mission statement of hate and bigotry.. while its one thing for adults to be ensnared, willingly or otherwise, its another for the children of cult members to be held captive simply for being unfortunate enough to be raised by a cult member.
Examining the WBC has been crutial to me finally realizing what a sham the "org" is. Before I looked at so-called "apostate" sites, when I examined the belief system of the WBC, I realized how shockingly similar it is to the JW's. The JW's trade the hate and anger for a tone of contempt and condescension.
i dont go out of my way to do it but when they pass me in the street i just cant help myself!
it's hilarious!
today i popped to the train station to pick up some tickets and on the way back i noticed an elder's car parked near the local cafe.
LOL! you know theyre going to be talking about how homosexuality has made you a tool of satan now, right?
Saying hello will turn them gay! lol
i'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.
i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.
i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.
I hate this. I keep deluding myself into thinking I can stay.
regarding worldly people, shows or toys?
etc...what quotes annoyed you the most?.
for me it was "well, you have to remember, they're worldly"... "don't trust anyone who isn't in the truth" "they may be nice but they are not friends of jehovah"... just a few to name.
"Maybe my brain needed a little washing!"
This should have sent off red flags in my mind.

" You wouldn't want to celebate something where their heads got cut off, would you?"
"why would yu want to spend more time than necessary with them?"
"out of the mouth of babes"

"Make time for the more important things".
"those worldy people are so lost" - utterence of any sort of familial hardship; divorce, ect.. .
(df'ed person is seen in a public setting) "they look so sad, they don't have jehovah's blessing".
how do you know if they're sad or not?
I get irritated when I get told "Isn't this beautiful?" from the platform when some sentimental story is told about the JW's in a positive manner, or something banal and mundane is passed off as something much more.

I see this all the time.

The elders tend to make statements on thought processes when they "counsel" you - you don't know how I think at all! That's now how I felt!
