Its been going on for years but tonight it really hit home. I HAVE to drink after my meeting, its the only thing that calms my nerves. The things said tonight made me distort my face so much the brother saw me during the highlights and obviously wantedto say something to me from the stage. so he asks to turn to a scripture at the very end of the highlights reads it and stares at me while he explains it. how sad half the reason i drink is going to meetings. it bugs me to no end, does anyone else feel like this.

I must say, it's not just the hours spent at meetings and FS, remember the time spent winding down after the meetings when you talk about who did or said somthing unkind. Also the stress of seeing others getting away with things that you cant. Add 25% to that number....oye.

Things are about to get interesting....
by msconcerned inup until now people have just looked at me in a wierd way after i have shown them some bible verses and asked "what does that mean".
i have just resigned as an ms, so i expect things to be a little bumpy from here.
i have such mixed emotions right now, many years in the truth and now the doubts im having are messing up my head.

about the annual meeting-going to be another money maker
by pontoon inhaven't posted in a long time but i just have to say that the borg must really be building this annual meeting up to be a big deal.
talked with my dad and he hasn't had so much enthusastic anticipation since 1975. he said that it was announced that if all the seats are taken you should sit in your car and listen to the talks on the radio.
i told him the rumour was a new nwt revision would be released.

"Worldly" what does it mean?
by msconcerned ini have recently been using the expression "people not of our faith" and it shocks me to be corrected everytime by, "you mean worldly".
i dont really like the word worldly because i feel it is a degrading word to describe people we love so much that we try to find them in the ministry.
below are a couple of quotes from recent watchtowers that really give us the esscence of the word worldly as far as the watchtower is concerned.. janusz, who lives in eastern europe, became engrossed in his gardening business.

I dont think this word will ever leave the vocabulary of Jw's. All i can do is try to show others what it denotes.

People are so scared of "apostates" that even neutral material is looked upon with fear. I used to feel that way but now i read somthing and I make a decision as to if I want to accept it or not. An open mind is NOT a bad thing.

I have recently been using the expression "people not of our faith" and it shocks me to be corrected everytime by, "you mean worldly". I dont really like the word worldly because i feel it is a degrading word to describe people we love so much that we try to find them in the ministry. Below are a couple of quotes from recent watchtowers that really give us the esscence of the word worldly as far as the watchtower is concerned.
Janusz, who lives in Eastern Europe, became engrossed in his gardening business. He recalls: “ Worldly people admired me because I was full of initiative and was able to complete each assigned task. But my spirituality suffered, and I stopped sharing in the field ministry. Soon I stopped attending meetings. I became so proud that I dismissed the counsel from the elders and drew away from the congregation.” (What i get from this is, worldly people want nothing more than to make us prideful and stop attending meetings).
The sacrifices that the Israelites made to Jehovah were considered to be holy. (Lev. 6:25; 7:1) The Hebrew term translated “holiness” conveys the idea of separateness, exclusiveness, or sanctification to God. In order for our sacrifices to be acceptable to Jehovah, they must be separate from and uncontaminated by worldly influences. We cannot be loving any of the things that Jehovah hates. (Read1 John 2:15-17.) Clearly, this means that we have to avoid any associations or involvements that would defile us from God’s point of view. (What i get from this is, we as Jw's are an exclusive group and cannot associate with those Jehovah hates).
So when using this word it does not simply mean not a Jw, it is a hateful and hurtful word.
