the only reason i am posting this is because i know many of you are going or will be going through something similar and wonder if it is worth it.

i personally feel that it is worth it regardless of what i lose.

I have already penned a response to her... I touched on most of what you guys have mentioned, but midway through I literally just started laughing. I realized that it just doesn't matter anymore. There isnothing I am going to say to change how she feels and if I magically did what good would it server her.

She is 5 years from death and will now realize her entire life was a waste on a giant publishing company lie. If iwas that age and realized that I would shot myself ROFL. I told her that if Jehovah gave everyone the choice to worship him or not.. isn't it better to worship him in the way that you have proven to yourself to be the best as opposed to staying with something you feel is false? How can you argue with this reasoning.

Why is everyone so ready to make god want to kill someone? I tell you the only thing that would make JW's think this religion is false is if they said that ANY CHRISTIAN IS ACCEPTABLE BEFORE GOD. Then people would go nuts and say its a fraud. But tell them only a handful of fanatics will live and they are all for it

@Oubliette - exactly... The funny thing is occasionally when she gets air of the child abuse stuff she gets upset but says, "Jehovah allows these things to happen as a test in his organization - just like the Russian KGB agent that infiltrated the org".So I said isn't it wonderful that Jehovah will allow children to be molested as a test of other peopels faithfulness?!?!?!? She told me to leave ROFL

@ginger - when I would do anything wrong my mother would get us by the collar. Sit us down and read the scripture to us about not sparing the rod... then we would get spanked. All talking came from the "Young people ask book" once the blue one came out I was to read on my own LOL.

Our lives were literally all watchtower all the time. There was a period when we were inactive because of some weird monkey business in the hall but within a short period she was back at it... eventually the rest of the fam,ily came along.

She still has all the bound volumes going back who knows how many years but has literally taped them all closed so that "She is not persuaded by old light". It is a freak show

@ Oubliette - I mentioned this to here a million times and she says, "You are just trying to have a debate over words". So she twists a scripture and then twists another to prove her point ROFL. It hurts my face thinking about this. However, after 55 years how much can actually change. She has run herself in to the ground. She is deathly sick all the time and barely hanging on to life... Yet she goes out in service as a pioneer every single day. She is retired and gets like 110 hours a month. I think as mind blown said," I now figure they need to believe this crap for thier own loses in life."

When you have devoted 55 years of your life with 32 of them as a full-time pioner to something there is no reason to let it go

@Flipper - Thank man... It makes me feel bad to say those things about my mom but makes me feel great that I am not insane for thinking them LOL.

My brother has always been the favorite because he is like her: ex-missionary / bethelite / CODE etc... so the two of them together are just too much to handle. The very idea that she can ask me if I love my children totally sent my wife over the edge and now my wife said she will never speak to her again LOL.

At this point in life I am literally just waiting for her to slip into dementia so then I don't have to keep hearing this stuff. She was baptized when she was 9 and a half years old - so after 55 years of hardcore indoctrination I have to expect she should be insane. The worst part is that all of her quotes that are suppose to be so heart-warming are like copy and paste jobs from the Watchtower LIBRARY ROFL ROFL ROFL

There was a quote in a ragazine that said "First century Christians accepted the letters of Paul without the need to check and make sure the info was from Jehovah" it was something along those lines. I cant reallllly remember at the moment LOL it was a shot in the sark I guess

@Billy - you would marvel at the proverbial bubble of my family. My dad has 13 brothers and sisters. I have met two of them. They are both worldly so I only saw them once at a funeral for a guy I called my grandfather that I wasn't allowed to see because he was a baptist... My mom has 4 brothers and all of them are forsaken because they are not witnesses.

I have literally hundreds of cousins and as you can see 20 plus uncles and aunts. I do not know any of them. When my grandmother was dying we were with her for about 2 months. The only family that we saw was the immediate family. We had no friends and we were not allowed access to our relatives because they are worldly. When my mom went to the hospital she was there a week and had no way to alert her family because no one knew there numbers or where the lives. This witness thing has literally made us a family of hermits. PATHETIC.

2 yeaars ago my "successful business" was a tool of Satan trying to pull me away from Jehovah. Now its a blessing that Jehovah is going to pull away.

My dad has assured me he isn't going to the elders... but she sure will because she thinks it is best. LOL

If iI wanted to call a relativeI have no way of doing so because we don't even know their names. Worse still if I did manage to magically find one they would have no idea who I was or why they should even care

THe amazing thing about this is that this letter is a relief to me. My wife is even happy that now they have to accept the fact that I am not going to be doing this anymore. The lying and forced meeting attendance has been over for a while but the last hurdle is hearing that you will be losing them.

Like most witness families we never spent much time doing anything besides a family study and field service. We were never close and never had any real bond. So me not speaking to them almost isn't that big of a deal to me at this point. I know that sounds harsh, but it is a fact that I am sure many can understand. I hope others seeing this who will be in my situation can use it as preparation for what is ahead for them. It will help them determine wether they want to completely get out or just hang around.

The "fade" is no possible for some. For me it wasn't. It had to come to this.

i am just glad that this hurdle is past

@zound - You are so correct. Very loving woman, but the level of mind control is just insane!!! I would never have expected to hear it on this level though
