Fred Franz Personal Experiences

there is so little to be found about the personal side of fred franz.

it's as if he was an enigma except for his appearances to give district convention speeches years ago.

there is, of course, ray franz' take on his uncle in his book coc.. please share you first-hand, or second-hand reliable, experiences.

I went to visit him in the infirmary with my brother, mother and father back in the early 90's as a teen.

He was definitely a rockstar to most of the witnesses of my parents age group. I will admit whenm I first got there and he was babbling on and on about the glorious blah blah blah I wanted to leave. However he started speaking different languages and reaching out to touch people and have real conversation. He was blind so that was kind of creepy but he did genuinely want to spend time with people. I know he talked to his shoes etc... but he was a very very intelligent man that led many people down a deadly course but I do not believe that his intention was to genuinely cause peopple pain.

Yes it has all but disappeared for me and quite quickly I might add.

For me however it was not that I fewlt I had finally appeased Jesus or anything. It was the fact that I came to the realization I had no one to please except myself and family. You will be fine regardless of what your current feelings may be

Ray Franz - is he REALLY a hero?

on one hand, he's enlightnened many to the internal circle jerk that is the governing body (circa the 70s).. but if there's one reason that can be pointed to for the jws becoming full on cult, it's ray franz.

without him leaving in the manner he did, and stirring the pot, they might not have change the rule (retroatively i might add) on shunning of disassociated ones.

they specifically changed that so they could remove him and eliminate his influence.. his actions single handedly have created the situation where we have to fade, evade, leave marriages, say goodbye to family, just because we don't buy the jw bullsh!t anymore.
