A big "thank you" to everyone here
by Simon inin the past i have sometimes felt like i have to be the 'bad guy', so to speak, because i need to lock or delete topics, deactivate people, try and stop fights and such like - basically, telling people off and not being 'nice'.. well, apart from the odd heated debate and harsh word (and disruptive 'visit') i have not really had a great deal to do for the past month or two and it has been very nice - a pleasure to serve.. so ... i thought i should say a 'thank you' instead of a "stop it!
" for once

The wisdom of Ozzy
by Pardus ini never thought i would be quoting the wisdom of ozzy osbourne but he said something on the show tonight that stuck with me.
he said something like "the thing about life is, you don't figure it out until you're almost dead.
" yes, i know his mental processes have been screwed up from drugs so i'm sure he didn't figure out a lot of things that he should have.

I think the older we get, the more we reflect on our lives and how we've lived them.
Some wish they'd seen more, helped more, loved more, cried more and believed more...others are just glad that's it's over and they can finally rest.
Maybe that's why we question our faith as we age...worried that we may have devoted our whole lives to something fruitless....but in the end we are all dust and I truly feel that as long as you are remembered by loved ones...your life can never be fruitless no matter what course you chose.

Expat: this is Cyg life we're talking about...not yours dear. It's up to him in the end...all we can do is offer advice for him to mull over.
But Cyg hun I stress again: Don't do it unless you're completely sure it is what you want to do with the rest of your life!

Teejay I see where you're coming from and self sacrifice is an excellent attribute...but if your sacrifice isn't going to make you even a little happy, is it worth it? Even to please your mate? Sometimes a compromise can be reached without a complete turnaround.
I'm sure that Cyg's wife would luv to have him come along to the meetings with her, but not if it makes him miserable...she would not want to make his life unhappy would she?

You've got to do it for yourself and no one else...not even your wife.
It's gotta be what makes you happy or you'll find no success or pleasure in it.
Whicheva way you decide...make sure it is the best thing for YOU!

Naeblis I did not start this thread to cause more trouble....I would like to get back to normal thank you...enough bickering it's boring!
I suppose the wt justify their income in the work they do...distributing bibles and literature - and teaching countless numbers how to read that information...
And any relief efforts that need to be organised with their own...
Do you have anything against the catholics for the tremendous amount of property they own? I know they contribute to the woes of society in the monetry sense...but the vatican is disgustingly wealthy...even more so than any wt headquarters.....

I make enough to get by comfortably Kemf.....I don't live in excess...
I ask you the same question you posed to me:
You've been giving half your income away, right, hon?
These people can EASY AFFORD to distribute some of their millions to the needy....alot do, I know...but I'm questioning the necessity of the high bank balance....can't take it with you when you die...so why not help out others while you CAN STILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!
