The Glory Days Are Over

there is no doubt in my mind that the glory days of jehovah's witnesses are over.

from my knowledge and experience with wt history, i would define the glory days as the decades of the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's.

with knorr's great expansionary vision and discipline, dubs in the 1950's became a "somebody" in the 1950's.

I am inactive and have been off and on for about 13 years. But, I am completely inactive now. And I still have family that is

Jw and it would just cause a big family mess if I was DFd. Maybe I am just too scared yet to take that step, if I ever could.

Farkel, I could not agree with you more. Great post! Do you think that there is any possibility that the Org. could crumble and

cease to exist someday? I have often pondered this subject many times. How long could they go on with all the negative growth?

One of the last stats I saw showed an actual minus sign nest to the number! I could not believe it?

Hi all-

With Autumn in the air, my thoughts start turning to the holidays ahead. Are any of you doing Christmas or Thanksgiving?

I do, but I have to be so careful, incase any JW family would happen to drop by. Last year, I had to hide small decors around the

house when I knew Jw's were coming over. I wish I could put up the biggest Christmas tree I could find and all the decors I wanted, but

then if I did, it would really get fried by the JWs for it. I wish this Org. did not rob you of your freedom so much. I am tired of the games.

By the way, I researched Thanksgiving and there is not one shred of evidence that it has any bad history whatsoever. So, why are JWs

against it anyway??

Just what's on my mind I guess. Let me know what you're plans are this year!

i have to say that the past year and a half i have come a long way as far as the old feelings of guilt for being inactive.. but, at times i still find myself having that nagging doubt, that maybe i am in disfavor with god.

i guess maybe it is hard to break the .

do look back at my years as a JW, I remember what I went through and then my stomach turns. I guess it is just hard to get past

all the years of mind control, hard to break the chains. This forum is very encouraging and I appreciate all the input.
